As we reported yesterday, Kanye West's publicist has now confirmed that his mother, Donda, passed away "as the result of complications from a cosmetic surgical procedure" on Saturday.

Sad.

Please everyone! STOP with the cosmetic surgery! We are all beautiful in our own way. Just because practically everyone is doing it, doesn't make it safe. It's surgery, not a trip to the salon.

Hopefully, some lessons may be learned from this tragedy. Kanye's mother looked completely lovely. What a needless catastrophy.

After her divorce when Kanye was 2, she raised him on her own while getting a doctorate herself in English. I have heard from people in the know that she encouraged Kanye to speak up to stop gay bashing in rap lyrics, that's why Kanye was one of the first to come out against rappers hating on gays. WOW. My kids got me into Kanye West, and being a Mom of two boys, I've always appreciated his obvious respect for his Mom & Grandma which is reflected in his lyrics. Kayne is a true artist and I feel badly for him. Also, I was thinking about having a tunny tuck/breast lift myself, but now I'm thinking no way . People do die from elective surgury, but the risk is so minimized. RIP Professor West.

She was the Dean Of the English department at Chicago University, and before her son became rich and famous and she became his manager, I bet cosmetic surgery never crossed her mind, because people in academia don't relly care about such shallow things. i'm guessing it was lipo - a lot of american women die from complications related to liposuction - in the states you don't have to be a licensed doctor to do that (and other cosmetic) surgeries, so there's no guarantee the "doctor" is qualified and that the facilities are safe and clean, or that they know what to do when things go wrong on the operating table.

The Luxor headlining illusionist was recorded having quite the verbal altercation with Joe Monti, one of his magic producers on Wednesday, during which Angel is heard threatening to knock him out - and now he's had a police report filed against him!
