As we reported yesterday, Kanye West's publicist has now confirmed that his mother, Donda, passed away "as the result of complications from a cosmetic surgical procedure" on Saturday.

Sad.

I just lost my father two weeks ago this comming wednesday, and I can only say that loosing a parent is the absolute worst feeling in the world. It compares to nothing. Especially when your still young and you have so much left in your life that you want them to be there for. My heart, and prayers go out to Kanye and his family. It is the hardest thing that he will ever go through. Its like being sick and not knowing when or if you're ever going to get better.

To the people posting that this may have been gastric bypass surgery, that is not "cosmetic" surgery. It is done by general surgeons (not plastics) and requires hospitalization for several days. Also as posted previously, she was found at home not breathing - if she never woke up from anesthesia, why would they take her to her house?

I'm thinking this will piss him off even more (versus making him more humble). Especially when he finds out that 50 cent is his illegitimate 1/2 brother. If it makes him feel any better, Kanye can have my mom. She's a real pain in my ass.

The doctor that performed her surgery is not even board certified in plastic surgery, which can pose greater risk because of lack of training. With her money and fame, maybe she should have researched her doctor a little more. I am sorry for the loss, but with plastic surgery, it is buyer beware.
