Letterman Has Deep Pockets

Big props to David Letterman!

The talk show legend announced to his staff yesterday that he is going to pay all of their salaries through the end of the year while the writers' strike is still going on.

Dave took this bold and costly move because many networks have threatened to fire all the staffs of the talk shows, many of whom have been working for years and years on the show.

Time to at least start talking again, people!

I commend David Letterman for what he is doing. I admired him when he tore into Paris Hilton. He is an honest, talented, late-night talk show host. He is kind to like-minded guests and harsh with phoney's like Paris Hilton. It is very generous of him to pay his staff's salaries through the end of the year while the strike is going on.

that's awesome. i have a new respect for david.
i never really liked david letterman all that much until recently. i think he's funnier with his guests. he handles himself better than leno, i think. i don't know.

Dave Rocks!! I am a fellow alumni of Dave's at Ball State University in Muncie, IN and he is a wonderful person. He and his family was on campus in September for the dedication ceremony of the David Letterman Communication and Media Building and was truly humbled to have the building dedicated in his name. It didn't surprise me in the least that he is paying his staff during the strike…that is the kind of guy he is

Letterman has been my crush since i was 16, and that was 20 years ago. i find him to be very attractive and his sense of humor to me is very funny. The way that he keeps himself and his family out of the limelight and tabloids is very respectable. He is a good, decent guy. And, by the way, he makes twice what Leno does. And…just a quick story…i was filling out one of those e-mails where you fill in your answers to all these different questions and send it to all your friends - hopefully you know what i am talking about. anyways, one of the questions was what famous person would you have sex with if you could and i put Letterman, and you should have seen my friends laughing in response. People just do not think of Dave as a sex symbol, but look at what he is doing for his employees…now THAT is sexy!! :0)

You fail to mention that not all the people that work for Letterman are getting salaries until the end of the year. There are many individuals who work on his show that are not "staff" so they were let go right away and now are unemployed. Get your facts straight Perez.
