Nicole Richie stopped the baby celebrations for a minute on Tuesday to pay a visit to the Alternative Action Program in West LA.

What, pray tell, is that?

The AAP is a substance abuse treatment center. Nicole is there doing traffic school duties appointed to her by the California Courts for her traffic violation under the influence of Vicodin and marijuana, for which she plead guilty.

Richie swears she's off the pills and drugs now.

We hope she's telling the truth!

      there is no conclusive evidence that prenatal exposure to opioids or cannabinoids will cause harm to the mother or fetus. however, if the mother is a habitual user of opiods, the shock and withdrawals from stopping can cause miscarriage, which has obviously not occurred here. i say "toke up nicole! pop those pills, bitch!"

      and make sure to take vicodin while breastfeeding, too. keep that sucker asleep.

      I think this baby is doing wonders for Nicole. She has filled out some since she became pregnant. Hopefully, she'll continue to take care of herself after the baby is born. She definitely looks healthier and she seems to be genuinely happy to be having a baby, so I give her credit for that. Put the parties behind you Nicole, your life is changing for the better.
