Quote Of The Day

wenn1645961__opt1.jpg

"I've studied Buddhism and Hinduism, and I've studied Scientology through Tom [Cruise]. Ninety-eight percent of the principles [in Scientology] are identical to the principles of the Bible. . . . I don't think that because the word someone uses for spirit is 'thetan' that the definition becomes any different."

- Will Smith tells the new issue of Men's Vogue

The Bible doesn't suggest hooking up to archaic contraptions to measure your pain. Or having an "adviser" follow you around all day assessing your every move. It's not the principles that are wacky, it's the people and the practice.

Such filth this man is coming up with!! I'll admit that the only thing I know from Scientology comes from "South Park" but from seeing that episode I can say that saying Scientology and Christianity are anything alike is absolutely out of this world crazy. For one thing Christians don't believe that we came from aliens or whatever it was. There's also that machine that measures your happiness number. Oh and Christians don't have to freaking PAY to study their religion. Yeah there's like a bible but entering a church is free and they have like a million copies for anyone to read.

Chrisitans don't follow the Old Testament. It was fulfilled when Jesus was on Earth so none of the rules in that version apply to modern life. Obviously. It also talks about how touching the skin of a pig is a sin.

Maybe religion seems uncanny and wholly unbelievable to you but just because you don't believe it doesn't mean the people who do are idiots. I don't see what's so idiotic about having an opinion as to where we go after death.

The Bible stands alone…and can not positvily be compared to another book of man made faith especially scientology-which is bullshit the rich and hopeless love to feed on. Tom Cruise has over time become a first class weirdo…an embarrasment to whatever he decides to put his faith in. Perhaps he should try the Bible..but oh no…thats too common man for his status…the Bible..how old fashioned. Tom would look so out of style if his jack-nuts hair cut and his whip for poor Katie were completed with an old fashioned, God fearing Bible. Now it would seem that Will Smith is slowly slipping thru the cracks of Wierdoville-population: Celebs with too much time and money.

    52. idaho potato says – reply to this

      52

"… and I’ve studied Scientology through Tom [Cruise]."

HUH?! He gets Tom Cruise's view of a religion and it's called studying. Let me know when you crack a book, read and study, and make a logical and well thought out comparison. Hollywood types are wacky.

Tom Cruise is a weird 5 foot 7 inch little nerd. All of his movie characters are the same. His choice of picking the same character type to portray in his films over and over and over again has worn very thin. I don't think movie goers will ever flock to his films again. Once Pandora's Box is open…

Also, he screwed around while married to Nicole Kidman, as he did with all of this ex-wives and girlfirends. Not very spiritual.
Katie Holmes… 1 year down and at most 9 years left to go. Then, Cruise will dump her and wed Dakota Fanning.

This is HARDLY surprising… you cannot be "included" in Tom Cruise's "inner circle" UNLESS you are a Scientologist guru or guru in training… These two couples have been "friends" for years…. hardly surprising that WS is now "coming out" and stating that he has "studied" Scientology- he and his wife have been "underground" practicing Scientologists for years… as I said- you cannot get close to Tom Cruise without eventually succumbing to his cultish- "religion"… why do you think that he and his new BFF's - the Beckhams' aren't seen together anymore??? Hmmm? Tragic- I always "liked" Will Smith…

      61

Surely we've come past the 60's when two guys couldn't show affection without being publicly outed whether they're gay or NOT. It shouldn't matter anymore, anyway. Women are allowed to show affection without an intimate relationship, and guys ought to be allowed to, too. If most guys didn't feel so straightjacketed regarding the show of feelings, perhaps the world just might be a little less violent as they might feel good about having human connection rather than isolated, disconnected and frustrated. The fact remains that these two guys may just simply care about each other as people, and there's nothing at all wrong with that. To falsely infer gayness upon any show of affection when they're not is what keeps guys lonely and alienated and keeps them from connecting like women can, IMHO.

You can't read the Bible and put it on the same level as this stuff. God promises eternal life for "free" to anyone who will believe in Jesus as Savior. God can give salvation for free because Jesus paid for it on the Cross. On our side all we have to do is believe His promise. We can't earn heaven or ever deserve it. You get it as a gift the moment you believe in Him.

"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son

Scientology is a cult. Plus, if I wanted to follow a "religion" dreamed up by a sci-fi writer, I would certainly try to find one founded by a GOOD writer. L. Ron Hubbard was a terrible writer. And what's with the "Celebrity Center", anyway? Just another way for the scientologists to separate stupid celebretards from their money. Earth to Will: Run awaaaaaay! Earth to Tom: Your thetan needs work.

If Will Smith did any "study" of $cientology, they probably hooked him up to the e-meter, asked him a BUNCH (hundreds) of personal questions, including about his sex life, and have it all recorded in his auditing file. Once they get the dirt on you, if you say ANYTHING publicly about them that they consider negative, you will get the shit sandwich of a bad PR storm. I am SURE that's why he's not openly calling the cult on it's bullshit. Unless he really has joined it. In which case, he's an IDIOT! $360,000 - the low low price of becoming a human slave.

Is it a threat to the children of the world?
I know a lot about history, and this is the same kind of talk that started the Spanish Inquisitions, the Salem Witch Trials and the Holocaust.
They all started with lies being spread by extremely evil and ignorant people who would rather see people dead than have some tolerance for other people’s religions.
Bigotry is not much different than a virus or a spreading disease…

Why would anyone - with a good working brain - join the Scientology Church? What kind of brainwashing makes a person believe in aliens? Or is it a way to connect with people in the industry, like the Da Vinci Code? So it gives you access and success? I think it is a dangerous cult. It is also very expensive, that is why normal people like you and me don't even get in.

There may be similarities in the Bible to " technologies" in Scienfuckingtology; however 98% is just wrong!
No more Will Smith for me!!!!
These people are very scary and will turn on you in an instant if you say anything against their "church".
Once your are named an " enemy of the church" or a suppressive person all sorts of unexplained mishaps occur.
