Is there any actual proof that this woman is the biological mother? She abandoned her baby just a few weeks after giving birth, so how does she know it's Zahara and not another baby she abandoned? My daughter is nearly 3 and looks nothing like she did at a few weeks old when her eyes weren't even really open yet. Fact is, the grandmother searched for Zahara's mother for a few months, then gave Zahara to the adoption agency after testifying with 3 other witnesses that the mother was dead. Zahara was dehydrated, malnourished and suffering from "disfiguring diaper rash" when she was adopted and immediately given emergency care for several days. If this really is Zahara's biological mother, she should be thanking the Jolie-Pitts every day for saving Zahara's life.

As a few people have said, the better term would be biological mother. If you are calling this woman Zahara's real mother, than you are saying that Angelina is her fake mother. The words real and fake should not be used to describe parents. It is offensive to adoptive parents and adopted kids. Biological and adoptive are much less offensive words. I understand if you disagree, but, for the sake of adopted youngsters looking to fit in, try to be understanding and use the other words.

I can't believe the racist things you people are saying. Zahara's mother was raped. That's how she got pregnant. After she gave birth she was forced to runaway because of the shame she was given (even though she was raped) and the poverty. Z's grandmother thought her daughter was dead.

As much as I do not care for Angelina and Brad because they have no morals, the bio mom is seeing dollar signs, she may think she can get a payoff from A & B, and I am sure the press is paying her for her story on the "horrible" loss of "her" child. This child would probably be dead if it had not been for the adoption. Besides, she will have a much better life now than she could ever have had if she where still with (not her bio mom but with) her grandmother.

People get over it ! This women is NOT trying to get the kid back. She just wanted to tell her version of what happened and why she abandoned the baby. They live in freakin Ethiopia … do you really think she understands tabloids and magazines the way we do?! She's holding it up and kissing it but has no clue how calculating and manipulative the media is here in the US. Leave the women alone you ignorant bigots! And by the way, she is the biological mother and no matter how much Angie loves the child and has raised her… it was her bio mother that pushed her into the world. Unless you have children, don't even begin to question a mothers love. That young uneducated girl has been through enough… rape, labor, delivery, and then watching her child suffer and almost die from lack of food and sickness - NO one here has the right to pass judgement on her actions until you've lived in poverty and have only been able to eat a slice of bread per day!
