Alicia Keys' new album, As I Am, has done EVEN BETTER than expected.
The Soundscan numbers are in and Alicia sold an astonishing 742,426 copies in the U.S. since its release last week. That's massive!
It's also THREE times as many copies as the #2 disc sold. And coming in second - somewhat of a surprise - is Josh Groban. His Christmas album Noel sold a very healthy 223,306 copies. And it's already been out a few weeks!
Groban's appearance on Oprah yesterday will likely ensure him equally big numbers next week and throughout the holiday season.
Celine Dion's first album of new material, Taking Chances, came in 3rd, selling 214,381 copies.
And, poor Britney Spears, isn't even in the top 10 anymore. She's not even in the top 20!
Britney came in at an incredibly disappointing #23, selling 51,520 copies.

Britney did not even make a promotion, did not give even interviews to the mags. Also her first video was made during her rehab era. Under this circumstance i think she had a great success with a Hot 100 Top 3 single "Gimme More" and Number 2 album "Blackout".. U say that Alicia has success, they never made bad lie news about her of course she has no disadvantages. Britney had this success so before with her previous 4 albums. Britney is BACK and if u check the United World Chart u will see it's a huge success that she has sold over 600.000 units worldwide less than a month. Also her 2. single Piece Of Me is coming strongly that without any promotion,single or radio release or a video, in entered Billboard Hot 100 at Number 65. BLACKOUT is a great album.. If there are people who dont buy this album, it's their problem.. It's certainly better than Madonna's albums, with a great dance background, great vocal abilites and sizzlin funky tune.The tracks like "Break The Ice" truly kicks the asses and i'm sure her 2. single "Piece Of Me" will be a huge success if Britney focuses on her career and give up these court craps. I hope she will start to make some promotions.

I love Alicia's music, but after the AMA's I have lost all respect for her as an artist. She HAS to be aware that Beenie Man is one of the pieces of Jamaican crap that can't stand gay people. If she is aware of this, as I'm sure she is, it means that she willingly supported him and his music by making him a part of her show. As much as it pains me to do it, I'll never buy anything she does again.
