A California city attorney is trying to slap Britney Spears with two years probation for driving in the state of California for years without a valid drivers license and for her hit and run in August.
If she is given probation and breaks it - very likely - then Unfitney faces jail time!!!!
Spears' attorney Michael J. Flanagan is trying to get the charges dismissed, and he asked in court on Monday that the the case be moved to January.
"She is being singled out because of who she is, just like Paris Hilton was," Flanagan says. "My client has obtained a valid license and she shouldn't be placed on probation. In California, once someone obtains a valid license, the charges are usually reduced or completely dismissed."

All states have a requirement to change licenses with residency, but (1) most aren't enforced ie. warning first - you must change this b/c the laws aren't necessarily widely known. This to me is going after something they shouldn't be while they ignore a bigger problem (she runs over people while driving).

One has to wonder if this is just a BS charge so the CAPD can show how tough they're getting–even on celebs (pulease). But eff that Britney, just do the time. Between Nicole and LiLo in averages out to about an hour…that's better than two years probation.
