The body of Hawthorne Heights guitarist Casey Calvert was found dead on the group's tour bus Saturday, hours before a scheduled concert in Washington, D.C.

The cause of death has yet to be determined.

The band posted the following message on their website:

"Today is probably the worst day ever. Its with our deepest regrets that we have to write this. Casey Calvert passed away in his sleep last night. We found out this afternoon before sound-check. We've spent the entire day trying to come to grips with this and figure out as much as possible. At this time we're not sure what exactly happened. Just last night he was joking around with everyone before he went to bed. We can say with absolute certainty that he was not doing anything illegal. Please, out of respect to Casey and his family, don't contribute or succumb to any gossip you may hear. We don't want his memory to be tainted in the least. Casey was our best friend. He was quirky and awesome and there will truly be no others like him! His loss is unexplainable. As soon as we know more we will let you know.

Casey was the funniest, goofiest, and quite possibly weirdest person I knew. And I loved him for it. He was as straight edge as it gets, and he never succumbed to the pressures around him. My greatest memories with him are some of my most hilarious, and I'm going to miss looking forward to more.

Bad English Perez. Who cares about this guy anyway? The drummer from Decapitated was almost decapitated when their tourbus crashed into a lorry carrying wood, and he later died after trepanning. THAT's sad, man. And ironic, but so sad, so true.

I knew Casey personally, and this is a huge tragedy.
It still hasn't sunk in yet.
I was wondering if Perez would put this up here. It happened 3 days ago now.

No it wasn't drugs, so stop that rumor now.
He was married, and not gay.
He was one of the sweetest people I've ever known and to see people have such little respect for a human being losing their life makes me sick.

Casey was one of the most amazing people I know and I can't believe this happened. Why does it always happen to the good ones? And so young at that. This is still way too surreal for me.

You guys are idiots. Casey was not a Britney, he was good people. He was a sober dude. No drugs will be involved, you can count on that. He was a nice guy. And as far as the "who is HH?"'s questions. They are amazing. Tehy were A DAY IN THE LIFE from Troy Ohio (just outside Dayton). Casey was the guitarist/"screamer". Their debut album on Victory was like #3 on billboard. It sold so well, it got rereleased with a dvd and hit the charts again, and they rereleased A Day in the Life's album too. HUGE HUGE band. If you want a laugh, google "HAWTHORN HEIGHTS NE-YO". You'll get a funny story
