Lawyer's for the family of the victim in the Nick Hogan car crash think that the Hulkster's divorce from wife of nearly 25 years, Linda, is merely a ruse.
Kimberley Kohn, a Tampa attorney who represents Ed Graziano, the father of injured passenger John Graziano, is doubting the Hogan divorce.
She claims that Hulk and Linda are splitting in a move to protect their assets.
The Graziano family is planning to sue the Hogans and if they are divorced, they would have to go after each one individually, making it much more difficult.
John Graziano has been hospitalized since the August accident and is pretty much brain dead. His family wants the Hogans to pay for his medical care for life. And they should!

Yes, seems like that is what is going on… I did find it odd that the divorce is going on in the middle of all this Nick stuff. Nick needs to pay… what a horrible thing to live with. I hope this family goes down… sad to say but they were asking for it.

I had a feeling that there was more to the story. I have to admit, I have watched their show a few times and heard them speak about breaking up before… but they were in the process of trying to repair their relationship. This seems like a sheisty move to keep the Graziano family from getting what they deserve for their son. Nick's license should be suspended indefinitely… him and Britney.

Why should they pay Graziano's medical care for life? Is there evidence that he was coerced into the vehicle? If not, I think it more likely that he was an accomplice than an innocent victim.

they absolutely should NOT. i have a serious issue with accidents like this. I feel so horrible for the family of that poor boy, but the fact is he got into the car ("Show me your friends and I'll tell you who you are" - I am sure he was not oblivious to Nick's driving or his behavior throughout the night); then Nick got into an ACCIDENT.
Their poor child is brain dead. How long are they planning to keep his injured body around to look at in a hospital bed? That's just unfair to everybody involved.

I understand according to reports that the victim in the car accident wasn't wearing his seatbelt. At what point does the victim take responsiblity for not having a regard for his own safety. I'm just guessing, he wasn't exactly telling Nick to slow down or not race. Perhaps he was a willing participant. I know the family of the victim is crushed, but it seems like their anger is misplaced. Nick was driving yes, but the victim should have taken the responsiblity of his own safety and buckled up.

My question is that even if they are divorced & the assets are divided however that would go, both parents are going to named b/c at the time of the suit & the time of the accident they have full equal custody of nick. Even w/ a divorce they will both have to pay whatever the judge decides.

Whether or not John has his seatbelt engaged is moot. Nick was driving, and he had John in his car, thus he is responsible for the wellbeing of his passengers.

The kid wasnt wearing a seatbelt…..so its his own fault for the situation he is in. AND nobody forced the kid in the car, its a risk that HE took. Another reason everyone is sobbing around for the kid is because he was serving in Iraq. The reason Nick is okay is because he is smart enough TO WEAR A SEATBELT. Since he wasn't wearing a seat belt during the accident the military will NOT pay for his medical expenses. This was told to me by my fiance who is in the military.
Also, the Hogans have been having marital problems for a LONG time now. Just because they hadn't gotten divorced before doesn't mean this is a sham. Who knows though, it certainly is a distraction from what is going on with their son.
I think out of consideration for their friend they should help pay the medical expenses. It is only right considering the condition he is in and the fact that it was their underage son who was driving. Whether it is their responsibility or not, how could one not want to help out in a situation like this?

Yes, if Nick is an adult, then the parents should not have to pay (legally at least) EXCEPT that you're all missing a very important fact. I highly doubt that Nick owned the car he was driving, it was probably his parent who owned it. There is a legal argument to be made that they should be liable for permitting their son to drive their car knowing that he participates in street racing where a passenger or someone on the street can get injured.
Linda and Terry are liable for the accident b/c Nick was a minor during the time of the accident, regardless of VA status for John G. The VA shouldn't have to pay for an accident caused by severe negligence. If anyone knows the VA, they don't pay for years anyway, so the family is really going to need financial help. It's also Nick's fault that John wasn't wearing a seatbelt. I mean, come on you idiot. If you plan on drag racing, at least be sure that your passengers are buckled up. It's not like John signed a release of liability or anything before he got in the car. Now, the fact that Nick is a minor, means that the parents are responsible.
