In its fourth week of release, Britney Spears's new album, Blackout, has dropped to an incredibly disappointing 41st place this week in the U.S., according to the new Soundscan charts
Thus far, Brit Brit's album has only sold 466,834.
It seems like Blackout will not be selling more than a million copies.
This will be Spears' first CD not to go platinum.

I think you have to take into consideration that no artists albums are selling as good as they once did. This can all be contributed to new technologies that allow people to download singles instead of purchasing a whole cd. I think in today's environment we need to look how many records are sold under a new light than we did in the past.

How old are you people who are saying "Blackout" is an excellent piece of work? It's terrible! I sat through it once and threw the CD out (it was a free promo, thank God). Listen people, the truth is the CD SUCKS ASS. It was a way for this "artist" to make some quick cash for her drug problems. Unfortunately for her, the smart public (not the Britaloonies) can see right thru her and didn't buy this crap. So now she owes the label millions! Serves her right! THE CD BLOWS. I think "Piece of Me" will kep sales steady and "Toy Soldier" is going to be a big hit, Get Naked is a great, great dance track and a few others could be hits if radio stations play her.

I don't know how any of these artists sell any albums. Within the first week, I was able to download the album for free. It is the nature of the industry. The download was available off of MSN.com. The album isn't great, but if she actually promoted it………..it would of went platinum
