Team Barack

Not only is Oprah Winfrey endorsing Barack Obama's presidential bid, she's going on the road to campaign for him!

Does Oprah's approval sway your vote in any way????

I think Oprah's endorsement will have an impact definitely to people who hang on to her every word. Oprah has a lot of influence, and I think her backing a political figure speaks volumes. Never has she done this before.

Yes, surprisingly I wanted to see Hilary be the president, and now since Oprah is backin the Barack, and all about the black, and I am not even black! Anyway I can't vote cause I am not American, shit, don't even live there. Wow, what a contest, sounds like a damn sight more interesting than the proper election against the Republican - white wash, or will it be a blue-rinse…

    31. RILEY says – reply to this

      31

Well she thinks she's jesus and she has billions of followers so yeah I think it will sway peoples vote. However, I don't understand why she feels it's necessary. Why does Obama need Oprah? If he's such a great candidate then he can't he do it on his own and let his actions speak for themselves. As soon as Oprah see's a black person as being successful, she's all over it. Which isn't a bad thing, but if these people are so great at what they do then let them accomplish it on their own and let them show the world what they can do, we don't need somebody like Oprah shoving them in our face.

    38. hahaha losers says – reply to this

      38

You're all losers. You know you'll want to follow Oprah. Which is fine, because she is God on Earth. Unfortunately, Obama won't win because he's black, and Hillary is a woman, so maybe Chris Dodd or somebody will come through and make our country worse off then it already is? I actually think Obama would be a phenomenal President, provided he doesn't turn on the black rights/ Jesse Jackson/ Al Sharpton switch as soon as he's sworn in.

      42

She has no political credibility with me. Where was she for Gore and Kerry? She appears to care for the Democratic party, But comes out to support a "black man" vs ideals? This is not a book or a movie, this is my life. You have to stand for somthing historicly for your opinion to have weight in matters like these. The black woman Jesus bit off more than she can chew with this one.

    43. evelyn says – reply to this

      43

If miss thing wants to go on the campaign trail then she should run for office. If our country has gotten to the point that Oprah makes the decision who runs our country we better start reevaluating our political system in general. Remember when Babs spoke out for Bill Clinton? They said she was sleeping with him? This is just not right, she can indorse him but I think going on the road is nonsense.

I'm Canadian. But it's really sad to me that she is doing this. The truth is there will be ALOT of people who are completely uninformed about the candidates platforms but will vote for him because they are Oprah devotees and she tells them too. Not that he's a bad option….but I do think alot of her backing has to do with the whole he's black thing….and that is not a reason to make someone the President.I pray people will actually learn his platform and make an informed decision….not follow her like a herd of sheep.

I might be swayed a bit if I was a Dem, but I'm not. I know people get passionate about their political views, but I urge everyone to really analyze the issues facing our country before choosing a candidate. One question to ask is, "How will this idea be funded?" It's important because the answer is always, "With taxes."

      86

Why would Oprah sway anybody's opinion? Read about the candidate, listen to what they have to say, form an opinion. If you are so lazy that you are just going to look to a celeb. to give you your opinion on which way to vote then you shouldn't even bother voting.

I adore Oprah, however this would not sway my vote. I believe an educated voter should be able to make their own decision based on good information and not hear say. Now for the less informed voter, yes, someone like Oprah Winfrey could sway a vote. This should be interesting. I pray who ever it is, they will do a better job then the current sitting president.

It shouldn't effect it at all. What exactly makes Oprah an authority on anything except for how to be a talk show host? I'm so tired of seeing Sheepole flock to celebrities for advice. Wake up! These are people who wanted the quick buck and were lucky enough to do it.
There is no way that I would vote for Barack Obama anyway….

Not one bit. IN fact, it turns me more against Obama. It seems as that he is struggling and having Oprah go out for him is desperate. Americans don't see Oprah as a real figure in the world, she is more of a fixture of celebrity. No credibility whatsoever.

Personally, I'm already voting for Barack, so she can't sway me anymore. But I think she can definitely sway alot of other people. That's what happens when you're in the spot light daily. Look at what happened when Ellen brought up that whole dog issue, the family who got it started receiving death threats because they weren't giving it back. Creepy. But I'm kinda happy about it. In order for him to win he's going to need alot of support. I'll be happy to be able to see the first non-white president in America's history. It'd really show how far we've come with change, ecsp since we really haven't had any for the good in a long time.
