Geri writes from inside the Spice tour bubble

Hi there,

So it’s 10.30pm and I got home half an hour ago. We just did a run through of the show; it’s feeling really good. It’s hard to tell u without giving too much away… but Simon Fuller, our manager, came down and he was blown away. I think we might surprise a few people. Actually, I never thought I’d say this (because I wasn’t part of the group when it was conceived so it was hard to be objective) but Holler is white hot. That’s all I’m saying otherwise the girls will kill me.

Okay, so backstage… it’s amazing to see how much goes into making a show – lights, catering, dressers, sounds, engineers, crew – it’s like a travelling circus.

I actually feel like I’m in the Spice bubble… we are encapsulated in this world where we are just immersed in each other’s lives constantly.
Just before the run through of the show this morning, Mel B, Victoria and I even went to the loo together… in separate cubicles, obviously!

But of course… there’s also my daughter Bluebell. She loves hanging with the Beckham boys. Cruz and Bluebell have play dates, and Romeo – well, he is just gorgeous with her. Actually, it was a beautiful moment when we were rehearsing the other day and all of our kids were playing on the stage at the same time. It made me smile.

As you probably know, Mel B was in the live final of Dancing With The Stars and we surprised her on Monday down at the show. She was so shocked, it’s the first time we’ve ever seen her quiet! She was with us in rehearsals yesterday morning and then went to the studio in evening for the results show. She SO should have won… I’m very disappointed. But we are all so incredibly proud of her. You’re a winner to us Mel!

Okay, I have to go to bed in a bit as we are working really hard on the show and I need to get some rest. If you have a ticket for the tour, you really are in for a treat. Get ready to party!

    I agree Mel B should have won. She was the best. I wish she had so I could have seen her in Times Square today. It was CRAZY… so many people, tons of security every where and lots of race flags honoring Helio for his win. It was CRAZY to get in the subway… wish it was filled with Spice Girls instead… I would have SO called in sick LOL

    The reason why Mel B didn't win is one, the FANS voted and chose Helio, the true winner. Mel B isn't even American number one. She should have been on the British version of the show and not tried to horn in on ours. Number two, she was already a performer and all she did was hone existing skills. Helio won because he started with no prior knowledge and BECAME a dancer. I don't expect anyone on these sites to understand this advanced logic though.

    "I'm right" you make me laugh! You have advanced knowledge? Of what, how to fix your double wide? Here's a little info for you …that accent of Helio isn't from any where in america! Duh. And he sucked. He has no rhythm, he was sloppy he just had that smile.
    Mel b was hands down the winner. I mean look how long Marie stayed in and she couldn't dance her way out of a cha cha line.

    You know, the fact that they take a few minutes to write little entries is quite nice. Many bands don't bother. It's also nice that they seem supportive of each other. Even if it's just a load of BS, they fake it well and that counts for something!

    Holler is a HOT song that didnt get much attention as they were just breaking up, but if they released it again now it would do great, much better than 'headlines' their comeback song that was a bit weak

    The reason I leave my comment is I'm a Flamish girl (from Belgium) and when I see the american celebrityshows or kind of beautyshows I become totaly quiet… Here in Belgium(maby even Europe)
    everybody is who he is and that's it.
    I tink a lot of you americans have not the consciousness that you live just one time. My opinion doesn't count but it's just a hint to begin by yourself and not to worry ALL the time about your body and beauty because of that you become stressy and even unhappy in the end. But if the time ever comes to die you will have regret you didn't enjoy life in your OWN, EASY and LOVELY way…and here in Belgium we do not think about it all the time, we are happy and we have not the want to enjoy food all the time because we have ourselfs and we know we are fine. So we are not very bulky and not very slender. We are just okay. Normal people. Celebrities are who they are and everybody can be beautiful. It's just a little bit strange that you americans give them so much attention. Maby my vision of american women is not too correct but this is the way it seems for me. They are just sweet and normal people like you and me. So think a mintute about the motto:
    'Live your life in your own way and you will be okay' ;)
