Coming To Broadway!

It's official!

Patti Lupone will star in a new Broadway revival of Gypsy, set to open this March.

The legendary show will be directed by Gypsy co-creator Arthur Laurents, who wrote the book for the show.

So exciting!!!!!

28th!!! I Enjoy Patti…I do! But I saw her in Gypsy this summer…and she was WHACK! I wanted to like her…but she vocally SHAT all over that stage!
B-dette Peters performance on the Tonys was so superior. I am not excited about this at all. Hopefully she will get better in this role and be the Patti we know she can be!

oh patti patti patti, my darling aging diva, you are far too old for this lifestyle, you may look alright on stage, but to my surprise when you exited the sweeny todd stage doors, you looked like you were on your death bed. I love you, but will you ever consider retiring? Is it worse to fade or to burn out. Only time will tell.

Oy…this was done just 4 years ago with Bernadette Peters. While I loved that version and love Gypsy is all, tis time to let this show have a 20 year rest. It did not bring in the money in 2003 and wil not do it this time!

She's not as talented as people make her out to be. In Sweeney Todd her ego outshined her performance. You could tell the whole time that she was thinking that she was the shit. Well she's not. Let's give other older actresses a chance to shine.

I'm lovvvvving it! It's always a pleasure to see Miss Patti perform in concert or in a show. I've seen her in "Regina" and "Sweeney Todd". She is not everyone's cup of tea. Even she herself has said: "They either love me or hate me." I luv her! From what I understand, Arthur Laurents is doing "Gypsy" again to erase the memory of Bernadette's perf as Mama Rose. Apparently, he was not thrilled with Bernadette with the Betty Boop voice. There are many people who appreciate Miss Patti's talents. When she's on Broadway, she'll show people how a true Broadway diva masters a role. I can't wait to see her perform in NYC again…. from her Patti LuPone FANatic in Austin, Texas…

I saw her this past Saturday night. She was amazing ON stage. Disappointed when I was the only one to ask for a picture and she looked me dead in the eyes and said I prefer not and rolled her eyes, got in her car, slammed the door. I wont be seeing the show.
