Who gives a shit about Broadway, I want the writers strike to be over!
NOW!
Re: chris –
The strike is over, dumbass. They reached an agreement at 9pm eastern time, of course the theatres weren't going to turn their lights back on and resume shows at the exact second the strike was over.
THANK GOD
me and my mama have been posponing a trip to the NY cuase we goo manly to see shows
YAY
=]]
Sorry, but now that the strike is over, it's my turn to go on strike, for the same amount of time that the writer's guild chose to take it out on consumers like me.
While I fully understand why the strike took place, I also understand why & how the writer's chose to use us as a bargaining chip (at our expense). Not cool.
So, I now encourage everyone to boycott any business that shut down during the strike, like Broadway.
You see, Broadway really had no reason to shut down ongoing plays. Those works were already "in the can", so to speak. I really felt bad for all those visitors/tourists that had planned months in advance to see NYC, only to have their vacations ruined by this crap. For some, it was a waste of thousands of hard-earned dollars and much deserved vacation time, time they'll never get back. That's just not right.
So, to the writer's,…you can fuck off, for a while. I'm glad you'll be making more money (which we'll be paying for, in the end).
Have a nice day.
YES! Finally!!!!!!! This is awesome!!
Re: alyna –
Oh I don't know.. How about people who actually are intelligent enough to understand and appreciate Broadway … In other words… Not you O_o
About my recent post, some corrections.
The Broadway issue involved the stagehands, I believe. So, fuck them and still boycott the shows for the same reason/s (using us as a bargaining chip, etc…).
And, as for the writer's guild, what I said still goes, fuck them, too.
Thank god for video games.
:-)

Amen Jose!
I'm freaking pissed. I haven't gone to New york in forever and I decided to order The Little Mermaid tickets in advance. I was either going to sell them or go to the city - I opted to go to the city. Well after non-refundable flights and non-refundable hotel reservations - I was out $$$$ and had a horrible time in the city. It was like the spark was taken out of the trip. I wanted to see that and Wicked. I haven't taken a vacation on forever.
I wish the theaters would have paid the union what they wanted while working out the strike. It costs me a lot of money and I have a sour taste about the city that isn't going away anytime soon.
Thanks Jose for your understanding! My family had planned our Thanksgiving vacation to New York for the past 2 years. We saved and saved to see 3 Broadway shows. We were so disappointed when we heard about the strike. Legally Blonde, Jersey Boys and Hairspray all reimbursed our credit cards but it still totally sucked! New York is an amazing city and we had a great time touring Greenwich Village, a boat tour around Manhatten island, and even the Rockettes Xmas Spectacular (it wasn't cancelled since they had a different contract - thank God!) Anyway - it's reassuring to hear people support the tourists who lost out on perhaps their one and only opportunity to visit New York City. We will try to go to New York again some day - (we'll have to work and save for quite some time because it's really expensive!) We love New York - it's the most amazing city!
Broadway is feeling gay tonight!
Thank fucking God. I have tickets for Wicked for about 2 weeks away and I was extremely worried that Broadway would still be shut-down. But thankfully they figured it all out.
You know what really sucks about all this though. The shows that only have Christmas runs lost a lot of their run times… which means profits for them AND seats for tourists. Oh well… at least it's over.
now i can see desperate housewives again
Re: Jose – Um, The writers strike has nothing to do with the Broadway Strike. It was the stagehand Union on strike. Nothing to do with writers. But I do agree this strike had a huge negative affect on alot of people.
Thank god! I can finally see homos in tights singing again!
OH MY GOD i WISH THEY WERE STRIKEING AGAINST YOU..
perez you are a fat fuckin joke god dam get a real fuckin job man I'm tellin ya and I cant believe that I'm wasteing my time writting on ur stupid site but someone has to say something you're a fucking joke man and the only people…besides me.that write on ur stupid site are proboly lazt ass people who stay at home all day and write on thier computers or in a coffe'e shop so original perez..but seariously bud I know u hear this enough but get a real job and stop bumming of off other people's celebrity..and for fuck sakes at least there are people out there who are famous for something what are you famouse for who have you helped..no one cause ur a fat fuckin lazy slob who needs to get a job……………………and for fuck sakes stop dying ur hair all of those god dam colour you look like a futuristic monkey
Nice…but too late for us - we were in NYC for Thanksgiving, but we did some an awful off-Broadway play. and it was really really bad -
YAY! This made my week! I LOVE BROADWAY!
I am going to NYC for New Years and the main reason I was going was to see Spring Awakening (with the original cast) for my christmas pressie and now it's really going to happen!!!!!
Re: Tom – Had already posted a correction (see above). Thanks.
this sucks!!!! yesterday afternoon, i was supposed to go see hairspray. but because of the strike, i couldn't. fukcing karma just HAD to go off and end the strike that night. GHEY
Re: I WANT MY FUCKING TV BACK – Yeah, me too. And my boyf needs his job back. Is anyone gonna pay my rent? Buy the groceries? NO. I'm behind the writers 100%, but this needs to be resolved for the sake of the rest of us.
Re: amy – He/She's not a dumbass…the stagehand stike is over. Not the writers strike. You gotta think before you type, girl! You end up sounding like the jackass.
Re: anthony maclellan – It's "damn" with an N, "writing" with one T, "wasting" without an E, "probably" not proboly, and "seriously" without an E. Oh, yes. "Their" is E then I. In addition, your punctuation could use some work. You're not very bright are you. And that's a statement, not a question.
