      Re: chris

The strike is over, dumbass. They reached an agreement at 9pm eastern time, of course the theatres weren't going to turn their lights back on and resume shows at the exact second the strike was over.

Sorry, but now that the strike is over, it's my turn to go on strike, for the same amount of time that the writer's guild chose to take it out on consumers like me.

While I fully understand why the strike took place, I also understand why & how the writer's chose to use us as a bargaining chip (at our expense). Not cool.

So, I now encourage everyone to boycott any business that shut down during the strike, like Broadway.

You see, Broadway really had no reason to shut down ongoing plays. Those works were already "in the can", so to speak. I really felt bad for all those visitors/tourists that had planned months in advance to see NYC, only to have their vacations ruined by this crap. For some, it was a waste of thousands of hard-earned dollars and much deserved vacation time, time they'll never get back. That's just not right.

So, to the writer's,…you can fuck off, for a while. I'm glad you'll be making more money (which we'll be paying for, in the end).

      Have a nice day.

Oh I don't know.. How about people who actually are intelligent enough to understand and appreciate Broadway … In other words… Not you O_o

      36

About my recent post, some corrections.

The Broadway issue involved the stagehands, I believe. So, fuck them and still boycott the shows for the same reason/s (using us as a bargaining chip, etc…).

And, as for the writer's guild, what I said still goes, fuck them, too.

      Thank god for video games.

      :-)

      Amen Jose!

I'm freaking pissed. I haven't gone to New york in forever and I decided to order The Little Mermaid tickets in advance. I was either going to sell them or go to the city - I opted to go to the city. Well after non-refundable flights and non-refundable hotel reservations - I was out $$$$ and had a horrible time in the city. It was like the spark was taken out of the trip. I wanted to see that and Wicked. I haven't taken a vacation on forever.

I wish the theaters would have paid the union what they wanted while working out the strike. It costs me a lot of money and I have a sour taste about the city that isn't going away anytime soon.

Thanks Jose for your understanding! My family had planned our Thanksgiving vacation to New York for the past 2 years. We saved and saved to see 3 Broadway shows. We were so disappointed when we heard about the strike. Legally Blonde, Jersey Boys and Hairspray all reimbursed our credit cards but it still totally sucked! New York is an amazing city and we had a great time touring Greenwich Village, a boat tour around Manhatten island, and even the Rockettes Xmas Spectacular (it wasn't cancelled since they had a different contract - thank God!) Anyway - it's reassuring to hear people support the tourists who lost out on perhaps their one and only opportunity to visit New York City. We will try to go to New York again some day - (we'll have to work and save for quite some time because it's really expensive!) We love New York - it's the most amazing city!

Thank fucking God. I have tickets for Wicked for about 2 weeks away and I was extremely worried that Broadway would still be shut-down. But thankfully they figured it all out.

You know what really sucks about all this though. The shows that only have Christmas runs lost a lot of their run times… which means profits for them AND seats for tourists. Oh well… at least it's over.

Re: Jose – Um, The writers strike has nothing to do with the Broadway Strike. It was the stagehand Union on strike. Nothing to do with writers. But I do agree this strike had a huge negative affect on alot of people.

Re: anthony maclellan – It's "damn" with an N, "writing" with one T, "wasting" without an E, "probably" not proboly, and "seriously" without an E. Oh, yes. "Their" is E then I. In addition, your punctuation could use some work. You're not very bright are you. And that's a statement, not a question.
