His performance on X Factor Saturday night was safe, boring and uninspired. He coasted through it.

Having said that, he'll still likely make the final two.

      It's not the Welsh National Anthem (that's Lands of My Fathers / Hen Wlad Fy Nhadau), but it is a very well known and patriotic British hymn called 'I Vow to Thee, My Country', also set to new words and called World in Union for rugby. It was a great performance - very 'best of British', the theme of the show last night. I think Rhydian's still doing fantastically well.

      Perez! This was Rhydian's SECOND song of the night - and it is one of those iconic inspirational songs known to everyone in Britain, the second part is something sung at rugby games apparently. The video of the FIRST song did not go up on the xfactor UK site until this morning US time - it is terrific! Rhydian did the Queen song "Somebody to Love" standing on a grand piano. He was GREAT!!!
      Perez, THANK YOU for posting about Rhydian in the first place. I never would have checked out the XFactor UK site and become such a big Rhydian fan!

      I guess you had to be there. Vocally skilled & flawless, which perhaps makes it sound easy, but it's NOT. You don't 'coast' through a song like that and have it sound that good. Simon was right - it was outstanding, IMHO.

      perez for someone who claims to know all the facts you've been so retarded about this, it was his second song not his first and it is an iconic song known to everyone in britain.
      ALso his first song was fabulous aswell.
      Just because he didnt do any gimmicks or dress stupidly this week does not mean that it was boring - plus in the first song he sung it standing in a bright red suit on top of a grand piano, hardly the most dull thing.

      If the song is not catchy or anything close to it, you call it boring?
      This is a classic, traditional, old song, which means so much to everybody in UK. It's an anthem to the country you love and is nearly a secret to our heart. It's a majestic song and Rhydian has sung it majestically.
      Get some musical lessons, baby!
      Beside, Rhyd has sang as the first song Queen's Somebody To Love and he made fantastic, original performance, which you would have loved more than this one.

      God Perez, for someone who is such an 'anglophile' you apparently know very little about the UK!
      That's an iconic song here, and very suitable choice for the theme "Best of British" music.
      Like someone already said- Rhydian is so technically near perfect that he makes even the hardest songs sound easy.

      Iconic, perfectly executed, and a downright brilliant choice to secure the votes needed to keep him in the game in the face of previous controversy. Rhydian is going to be HUGE worldwide, his will prove to be one of the major voices of our lifetime, ala Streisand, Celine, Whitney, Charlotte Church. If you really just can't "hear" just how extraordinary his voice is, and appreciate it…..then I am truly sad for you for what you are missing. A voice like that overrides your or my taste in vocal material, it just IS…and it is a rare gift. And yes, thank you Perez for bringing him to our attention in the first place, I try to remember that every time you piss me off or disappoint me .

      This guy will be a HUGE Worldwide star. Cowell has clearly had an offer from the US already, you can tell that from his comments tonight. He'd be gutted if anyone else won because he KNOWS there is only money to be made from Rhydian (the others bring NOTHING new to the table whatsoever).
