Nicole Richie and Joel Madden are using their celebrity for good, and that's always a wonderful thing.
The parents-to-be launched their new Children's Foundation on Monday afternoon. They held a press conference at the Los Angeles Free Clinic in Hollywood.
Nicole and Joel donated 100 Mom-to-Be kits to the Los Angeles Free Clinic.
Hopefully they will continue to be active in their philanthropy!

Her biological father Peter Escovedo III, Mexican, African American and Creole, and her biological mother is African American who was a backstage assistant. Her biological father and her aunt, Shelia Escovedo aka Sheila E toured with Lionel Richie. She was raised by Peter until she was 2 and that was when she was adopted by Lionel and Brenda. If you are going to make a big issue of her ethnicity please get your facts straight. There is a reason why she identifies herself as African American. P.S. Being of Aztec descent myself, Mexican is really comprised of three ethnicities Native American, Caucasian AND African American. Please learn your history before making inaccurate statements.

and yay for them giving back to the community, people don't see how badly Los Angeles needs a lot of help right now, all a lot of people see is the "glitz and glamour" in Hollywood….please take a minor detour off just about anywhere in downtown L.A. and you'll see how much help is needed in that area alone

In New Orleans there are thousands of creole/black hispanic people that have nothing to do with Mexico so you should stop spreading that rumor when you don't have the facts!! Dominicans are half Eoropean and half African. So are large numbers of Cubans!
