All of the awards shows need to go. They're political and not newsworthy. The really talented artists hardly ever get the credit they deserve. Instead of all of these stupid celebs spending too much money on a silly worthless award show who's only purpous is to stroke everyones dick, they should pool their money for a worthwhile charity. Actors, singers and other artists are such pompous blowholes, it makes the world sick.

Trent Reznor is far from over. The dude could be 80 and still make dark, weird, crazy NIN music or produce other people's music. He doesn't make shitty pop songs designed to appeal to teenagers, he doesn't present himself as a teen idol. All I have to say is jealousy is a you know what and honestly no one wants to see artists who haven't had a hit, haven't made any money, or sold many records win a grammy. We can leave that for the Oscars. While I agree that some of those artists nominated suck, I'd much rather listen to them than some other people. And Pete Wentz should just be quiet b/c all he does is play drums….thats all

The Grammys have for the most part lost touch with the artists actually driving new music and continue to recognize mediocre follow-ups from bands whose best days have long passed (I would not include NIN in this list- they still kill) but seriously- who's writing the best music in rock? It's not the Foo Figthers, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Nickelback or Daughty. Arctic Monkeys, Klaxons, Kings of Leon, Tegan and Sara- sad these artists are not getting the mainstream credit they deserve. Seriously- what kind of "award" choses Black Eyed Peas- My Humps- a B-side they didn't even want to lay down over the brilliant "I'll Follow You Into the Dark" by Death Cab for Cutie– seriously? Grammys are killing themselves- unless they only want to appeal to the Oprah Mini-Van crowd. The US needs a Mercury Prize- something credible to recognize TODAY's best music

I am very pleased to see that I am not the only one who SINCERELY appreciates his talent. NIN is my all-time favourite band, and it is simply because they don't make songs, they make masterpieces. Actually that is where his record company chose to have a studio so it had nothing to do with him really. And it was actually Marilyn Manson who recorded Anti-Christ superstar there with Trent as a producer. and for people saying NIN ripped ppl off, NIN which is basically Trent Reznor opened up a whole new genre of music, and pretty hate machine which was NIN first real studio album didn't come out until 89 so I don't understand how you can say that he was ripping ppl off throughout the 80's. Trent is more talented than 99.9% of the so called musicians we have today, with American idol and all any talent less fuck can become famous. He has the most conviction and passion for his music and actually says something worth listening to. But than maybe your IQ is just to damn low to understand the big words and metaphors he uses.

Trent is a GOD…he makes beautifully deep and mesmerizing music that has a meaning and a message behind it, not some bullshit about getting tits & ass & getting laid. I saw NIN a while ago and, out of the 30 something shows I've seen, their show completely blew me away, it was like nothing I've ever seen. Amazingly talented group.
