The rapper with the most obnoxious song of the year is being sued for trademark infringement by a musician named…Souljah Boy!!!!!!
A rep for Souljah (with an H) tell us:
"I am writing on behalf of the law firm of Alexander, Odunze & Kang LLP to give you a heads up re: the attached complaint, which was filed in federal court this afternoon on behalf of Willie Lyons p/k/a Souljah Boy. By way of background (and as you may already know), Mr. Lyons, known in commerce as Souljah Boy for over twelve years, is suing artist Soulja Boy (birth name: DeAndre Way), his record label, attorney & manager in connection with his blatant infringement of Mr. Lyons' trademark."
This will probably be settled out of court.

You CAN trademark a name, at least in the sense that you can register it with the USPTO. But infringing on a trademark isn't like breaking the law — the courts get to decide whether to enforce it. In this case, there's no way a judge will, since the big issue in a trademark case is whether the infringement creates a likelihood of confusion, and the shittastic rapper trying to sue the slightly-less-shittastic rapper wasn't known to anyone before today. Since no one in the history of history has ever gone looking for "Souljah Boy"'s music, let alone gone looking for it and accidentally happened into and purchased "Soulja Boy"'s, there's NO TRADEMARK CLAIM. The suit will be dismissed out-of-hand.
