The internet is ablaze!!!!
While we eagerly await the new Green Day record, it seems like Billie Joe and crew are having a little fun with a side project.
A band called "Foxboro Hot Tubs" has released an EP of six songs that has people speculating that it's the Green Day boys experimenting with a new sound.
The tunes are very '60s-inspired and hella cool.
And the lead singer sounds like it's definitely Billie Joe!

Dude, I HATE Green Day. Billie Joe's voice on Boulevard of Broken Dreams made me want to pound my skull. But if this stuff is really them, I take all that back because it sounds awesome!
i liked them when i was 10 and now i think about how lame they are b/c only 10 yr. olds like them. they made decent music back then but now they suck cock and they are always trying to make political statements which is annoying and i think they are a christian band which is even more annoying and lame. they are not tru rock stars. they are too conservative for my taste.

It's totally Green Day. If you go to www.thenetworkband.com (the network are green day with a couple of extra musicians) and look under "church", you will see the same goat insignia which is also on the Foxboro Hot Tubs page. I love Green Day and their side projects. Money Money 2020 by The Network is an excellent cd, by the way.

I love it if it's them. It sounds really good. And Pinhead gunpowder isn't a secret. BJ has admitted he's in that band. i love the 60s. Wish I knew what they were about. Plz let the new album come out soon….Love GD so much.

I've been waiting for Green Day's popularity to calm down so I can see a show without having to ram my elbow in some middle-schooler's face. 3 years is a long time to wait for something new from them but Foxboro Hot Tubs is perfect to hold me over for [maybe] a year.

Thank you, Abbie. Sometimes I think people blame GD for their popularity. They're just a band. Hating them is kind of stupid because it won't change anyone else's opinions. Just like what you like and shut up about the other stuff.
In response to this, The Network album was stuff that GD deemed not good enough for AI. I've no reason to suspect that Foxsboro Hot Tubs is any different, though it's so good to hear Billie's voice again.

its just how billie sings certain words, that man has a very unique voice. and some of the guitar parts could be picked out as green day-esqe.
as different as the songs do sound, there's no way of hiding the band.
i cant wait for the new record, green day cd's are the only cd's that could ever possibly be worth more then what i pay in the longrun.

I have been listening to Green Day for years, I have fallen asleep to their music on nightly basis's. I haven't listened to them in a while, but the timbre of the vocals is deffinantly that of Billie Joes as well as the timbre of the guitar. I think it is so great that they are experimenting with a different style of music, especially a style that I love. They pull it off very well, but then again, it seems that I have a more diverse taste than a lot of you people.

You can definitely tell with his voice.
His voice is pretty unique and you can pick it up anywhere.
Especially with Foxboro's song "Mother Mary"…you can definitely tell thats him.

its DEFINATELY Green Day because if you look at the EP cd on the Foxboro site it has a star-like symbol on it and its the same "religion" that The Network follow who is also Green Day and wel the voice is unmistakenable
