Julia Roberts has barely been making movies lately.
The Pretty Woman has mainly been having babies and doing voice over work on animated films, like Charlotte's Web.
But, now, Julia's back and the pressure is on.
Roberts looked happy yet nervous at the premiere of her new film, Charlie Wilson's War, Monday night in Los Angeles.
The film co-stars Tom Hanks and is directed by Mike Nichols with a screenplay by Aaron Sorkin - a great pedigree. But the movie is not a very "commercial" release.
Is Julia still America's Sweetheart???

Sorry, I've never cast her in the role as "America's Sweetheart". I think she is an overrated big mouthed race horse. And she's been married or divorced or almost married half a dozen times and she's barely 40. I think there is probably a lot that doesn't meet the eye. Perez, why don't you find out why she's had a long term feud (perhaps it is over) with her brother, Eric Roberts. He is the far more interesting and complex person in this acting family.

Mark my words, this movie will be a hit. It is based on fact and the lady she plays is a one time aquaintence of mine. She has her make-up and accent down pat. Julia may have "stolen" somebody's husband, at least she didn't abort her lil' devils. I love mothers and especially MILFS.

I don't like her anymore. The handicapped parking and the psycho driving on the wrong side of the road to chase down a photographer put the nail in the coffin for me. UM… "Charlie Wilson's War" is NOT a romantic comedy or romantic drama for that matter dimwits… So no "romantic chemistry" is needed between it's protagonists. It's about how a congressman (Tom Hanks) helped the Afghani resistance fight against the Soviets by getting the CIA to train them. Julia Roberts I believe plays a wealthy Texas widow who helps contribute monetarily to the cause… If any of you watched the trailers, you'd know this…

I have only seen a few snippets of this new movie but this first thing that popped into my head when I saw Julia Roberts all dolled up and using that weird accent was the role should have gone to Sharon Stone. I am far from Sharon Stones biggest fan but "when the shoe fits". It makes me so mad when Hollywood shoe horns the popular high paid yet wrong actors into roles clearly suited for others. Remember when Tom Hanks killed "Bonfire of the Vanities" in a role that should have gone to William Hurt.
