Actually, the movie is a remake of WORKING GIRL; the 80's movie with Melanie Griffith.

I agree with just about everyone on the site when they make different points…It is true, she only had a career because of "Newlyweds", which was only made possible because she MARRIED Nick Lachey. If the tables had been reversed, no one would be questioning the money that the WOMAN walked away with (I am a woman, but too many women only want equal rights when it is convenient).

Furthermore, I do feel like she divorced Nick because she felt that the grass would be greener on the other side– with her newfound fame. However, she WAS too young to get married— that is why her father didn't approve.

I liked 'Newlyweds', but even I knew that once the show was over she would return to her previous level of fame before the show–just like the Osbornes.

Nick is the MUCH smarter person, obviously. Nick was never EXTREMELY famous, but he never got caught up in fame–SHE DID. He remained a regular guy, as evidenced by the show. Now, he is not concerned with fame. Instead he is investing his money— in sports teams, restaurants, real estate. He doesn't need the limelight to remain successful. Her on the other hand, I hope someone keeps a close eye on her spending, since Nick can no longer do it.
