Her Madgesty was announced as a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee on Thursday.

Like, duh!

She was a shoe-in. Madonna is the ultimate icon and the most influential woman (or man) in pop music - ever!

The Material Mom was one of five acts chosen for induction at the annual ceremony, to be held March 10th in New York City.

The other artists are: John Mellencamp, The Ventures, Leonard Cohen and The Dave Clark Five.

To be eligible for induction, artists must have issued a first single or album at least 25 years before nomination.

In other words, Madonna is old.

Living legend!

Her music will live forever. And ever. And ever.

the RR Hall of Fame has been criticized forever for their choice of inductions…why even call it the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame when they admit rappers and pop stars today? And I agree with Madonna's influence on pop music, but should she be there before some other worthy names that are still waiting? It is all about ratings and press- when they show the concert they want as many people watching as possible. Is it even a realistic event anymore?
