Heath Ledger looks stupid as the Joker and will never come close to capturing the magic Jack Nicholson did in the series.
So called "dark" versions of of popular film franchises always bomb because

I saw this first during the I Am Legend trailers and couldn't believe it. It looks amazing. Nolan is doing a fantastic job remaking Batman. Wow.
i was SO MAD - i went to go see I AM LEGEND and you were promised to see this trailer in the beginning, and if you saw it at IMAX you got to see the first few mins of The Dark Knight.
but the theater i saw I AM LEGEND at on Friday messed up the film and skipped over previews - so i didnt get to see this. i was so bummed, sure the movie was okay but i really did just want to see the trailer for the Dark Knight

What people fail to realize is that Jack's interpretation of the Joker is not close to what the original interpretation was. I think that we should give Heath a chance. Looks like he is really kicking ass in the trailer. I also agree with the user who said that Katie was stupid for not doing this film.
Oh wow. Good actors who have proved themselves talented in previous films before jumping into undeserved super-stardom (Katie Holmes). Way to go hiring Maggie. She's awesome, as is Heath, as is Bale. Three effing talented people.

You simply can not reprise a character a screen legend has already played to perfection. Movie goers and fans of the Batman series are loyal to Jack Nicholson and Heath Ledger simply is by far not even in the same league as Nicholson. Ledger even goes so far as to do a shitty impersonation of Jacks
Joker dialect for credibilty. It doesn't work at all because Ledger does not have the talent to create his own Joker characterisms.
The new Jokers makeup is awful,cheap and looks like a straight to video/DVD horror villain. Like someone said before..1 villain? Thats because the DARK KNIGHT producer couldn't think of a new Batman foe to bring in. duh. So instead we'll have a D list Aussie actor rip off a legends portrayal of a character already done.
I want to see a return of the true stars in Batman movies. Clooney,Keaton,Kilmer (who now ranks as forgettable as Christian Bale but has had far more memorable roles).
The super star villains..Nicholson,Jones,Devito,Carrey,Schwarzenegger…
Ledger doesn't qualify to be their understudy.

2) After she passed, Anyone but Maggie Gylennhal should have been cast
