Not gonna be a popular comment but I think her point is that even though Diana was a princess, she was accessible and human and didn't pretend to be perfect. Fergie's not saying that she's a princess or even that she's like Diana, just that she thinks she's more willing to show her flaws than other artists, as Diana was more willing to show her flaws.
