The people of NOLA are sick of hearing about how great the Lower 9th was - how many of these people where ever there before Katrina?? It was a drug infested area and the murder rate there was out of control. There was also no police cooperation whatsoever!!!! There are plenty of other areas of New Orleans that need to be rebuilt that the flooding was just as bad!!!

Do you not think the ninth ward should be rebuilt? Make it Right is all about rebuilding the ninth ward. I know the flood damage is not covered on a homeowners policy, but would be covered on a flood policy. The homes that were still financed would definitely have flood insurance. The mortgage company would have required that a home in a flood zone be insured for floods. I was an inside claims adjuster during hurricane katrina. I was designated to handle katrina claims. I spoke to the affected homeowners on a daily basis. I referred many to the national flood center in Maryland, when I was advised that they indeed had flood insurance. I am very compassionate towards to people affected by hurricane katrina. but I know that they have received at least some aid from FEMA and other charities. I think they should have help in finding homes, but I think there are a lot of other people who need help just as much, if not more in other areas of the country. I do not think the ninth ward should be rebuilt due to the high risk of future flooding.
