I think this was the most frightening thing I've seen on this site for a while. I cannot believe they used HIM of all people! Besides that, it looks like the most inaccurate/fake nativity scene ever. Leather, gloves? A very visibly fake baby Jesus? Mary in… god what are those? Birkenstocks?

I happen to know the woman who portrayed 'Mary', very well and was there for most of the evening. (great gal, too!) Not knowing who he was at the time, I spoke with Mr. Lohan for a bit and he seemed pretty normal, well spoken, and genuine. Props to the media for guiding the masses in what to think!

but yeah, Mary's costume could've been a bit 'nicer'…note for next year… For most of the evening baby Jesus (and yes, it was a doll, and no this pic isn't photo-shopped) was swaddled very nicely, thank you. but of course, perez is going to post the WORST pic taken all night, just for hits, and I get that. no harm, no fuss. just wanted to post the real LD, too.

don't know the guy. maybe he was there just to get his face in the papers, and maybe he was trying to do a nice things for the people of new york during a stressful holiday season. i do know the woman playing mary, and i know her heart is in the right place. yes, if you're going to put on a public nativity in times square, maybe pay a little bit more attention to the costuming. but let's not get wrapped up in the stupid details. maybe he wanted to lift some spirits, or maybe he's a douchebag. but seeing a depiction of the birth of jesus - or any cute baby [plastic or no] needs to be nothing more than a chance to smile and say merry christmas.
