Nickelodeon is considering doing a special about teen pregnancy.
That's great and all, but it's also an important discussion parents should be having with their kids. Obviously Lynne Spears didn't have that discussion with her daughter.
Safe sex is also something kids should be learning in school.
A special on Nickelodeon is not going to make much of a difference, but canceling Zooey 101 and firing Jamie Lynn will send a strong message.

Obviously you're not a parent. You can be the best parent in the world and if your children are strong willed it doesn't matter how much you talk to them, what you say to them, they are going to do what they want to do. It sucks, it's unfortunate, but it's not always lack of parenting.

Every day people make choices and they have to deal with the consequenses. In our country, Finland, every teenager knows that if you have sex, you may get pregnant. That is because those things are taught at school. Still it does not drive the kids to have sex like rabbits. From my far, far away point of view, the nation-wide problem is not that Jamie Lynn Spears got pregnant, even though it seems to be so right now. The problem is you are terrified it could happen to any teenager. I think you should try to find the right means for preventing teenage pregnancies and teach your kids. Dissing Jamie Lynn and demanding her to resign is not the way to change things. No one should have to go through what she is going through right now. For one, as I recall Nickelodeon is a KIDS network. This is just start of the abomination on that channel. Shows like 'Drake and Josh', Unfabulas (as if I cared to spell it right) and this crap, Zoey 101 shouldn't even be on this channel to begin with. I don't think children need to be learning about 'hooking up' and 'making out' at ages 9 or 11. What they need to do is eliminate all these teen shows and put Nick back on the track in which it should be, not keeping on coming out with the same generic shows in which an actor from a previous show thinks they have enough fame to hold their own.
I'm highly sick of this, I am just a teenager, same age as the newest edition to the white trash empire, but I have far stronger and deeper values that her family claims she has and I can see that this show needs to be a hint to Nick to either get rid of all these shows or make another network. Its getting to the point where people are getting sick of it and are about to protest, its now at the state where parents all over are now not letting them watch any of these shows.
