The truth hurts. But Kanye is 100% right. Check your facts: 85% of blacks in America have poor credit. Much higher percentage than other racial groups including Hispanics. This is why stores and realtors discriminate against blacks. Blacks don't have credit or buying power. It may not be politicallly correct to say but blacks have poor money management skills moreso than other racial groups. Blacks own the least houses and its because they are bad with money. Southern Cuisine is not all the same. Blacks have a unique brand of Southern cuisine that born out of necessity during slavery, given the limited ingredients and crops they were permitted. They took nothing and made a classic cuisine. He's right, white folks just can't make real potato salad and definitely can't make no greens. Hopefully his statement will move the next generation of blacks to get some financial counseling or pick up a Suze Orman book and make a change for the better.
Kanye may be a talented hip hop poet and performer but certainly not phenomenal. I am not a fan of Kanye's and I'm not a fan of the less known similar hip hop poet Saul Williams. But Saul Williams is too hippie and leftist to be taken seriously mainstream. Kanye is corporate, fashionable, gimmicky, and kind of comical so people like him. But Kanye is far from the best rapper that's why he doesn't win awards. And he throws tantrums because under all the inflated ego he knows that.

His "comment" definitely sets people back in eliminating racism. Its comment like these from people with his influence that cause a lot of people to start thinking and believing what hes saying is true. Re: NEM – With all due respect, that is an exaggeration. There were white slaves, black slaves, indian slaves, chinese slaves, etc who built this country. The plain truth about black slaves is that a boat load of men couldn't steal men from a country without help from the people in that country. Black slaves and prisoners of war were sold by the Kings of their tribes and neighboring tribes. Nevermind the fact, slavery is alive and well in Africa in this day and age as well as America. It still exists in every country on earth.
