And The New York Times even wrote this article about it!

For now, we're trying to work through our disappointment with YouTube. We might post there again in the future, but for now, we're gonna explore other options like this video we posted on our site or THIS VIDEO we posted on another site.

After reading that tvweek.com article, I'm totally floored that you've only made $5k on the Youtube partner program. A single video that you embedded on your site last year earned over $4k on Revver in sharer revenue alone (Revver pays for sharing as well as creating videos). If you post your own vids and put them on your blog, you'd be much, much better off than sticking w/ YT.

I had about 20 of my videos deleted from Youtube last week, bitches, and when you have it happen to YOU, it IS a big deal! I've been searching for a new place: Megavideo, YahooVideo, Metacafe, etc, and so far, I've been disappointed. Hopefully, though, someplace great pops up. Re: Michelle – If you broke copyright by using any unoriginal material that you don't have legal permission to use, including background music and even ideas that are copyrighted, then they are legally obligated to remove them. So is any site. Now these other sites might get by with it for a little while but they'll be caught. There is no such thing as public domain on the internet per intellectual property law. It's that simple. YouTube didn't write the laws but they have too much at stake to not abide by them and any agreements to protect copyright they have with the owners of the copyright of the materials. It's black and white, there are no shades of grey in this instance. Deal with it and make totally original videos including any music, quotes, images of anyone other than yourself, etc. If it were your content taken you'd be mad if someone stole it and passed it off as yours as well. You can't expect any website or video hosting provider to be sued for your infractions. That's ludicrous.
