Theres a difference between Miss America and Miss USA ageants, two different systems. Miss America is based on scholarship and has a talent competition and Miss USA is involved in the entertainment industry and reresents us at Miss Universe, the biggest pageant in the world.

As someone already pointed out there is a difference between Miss American and the Miss USA pageant systems, and it really pisses me off that people always get the two mixed up. Miss America is about your brain, education goals and talent. Miss USA is about your body, entertainment and the Donalds hair, it is very rare that you hear about girls from the Miss America system doing things of this nature, however you hear this kind of thing linked to Miss USA all the time. Perez I love the column but as a former Miss America contestant please please please dont get the two mixed up. P.S. Miss America has a way better crown!
