Dannii does Olivia!

Kylie's little sister may not be the massive chart-topper big sis is, but she's still making music and we give her kudos for perseverance.

Dannii Minogue has released a new digital only album, Club Disco, and she does a chill-out cover of the Olivia Newton John classic Xanadu.

    not the first minogue to cover olivia. i play a beautiful version of "let's get physical" poolside at the ritz carlton here in miami beach. lush and languid, just like dannii's "xanadu". it's 100 b.p.m. so it mixes lurvely with "love to love you baby" by donna summer. it's some sort of bonus track that can most likely get downloaded somewhere or other. check it out!!!

    Danni was a TV star in Aus before older sis when they were teens. Then Kylie did Aussie the soap Neighbours which was broadcast in the Uk in the late 80s and it made her mega famous. Danni was always in her shadow from then on but also has had a music career and actually recorded some better hits that her sister "Put the needle on it" and "I begin to wonder" to name a couple.

    Other useless bits of info. She was married to Julian McMahon from Nip Tuck but he ditched her when he moved to the States. Also she has just finished a season as a Judge on Simon Cowell's UK version on American Idol, The X Factor ( which that Leona Lewis bird won last year) and she has just won the season with her act Leon Jackson.

    Also, I recently met her at an event at 10 Downing Street :)

    And Dannii better should leave Olivia songs alone as most of them are extremely connected with Olivia's angelic voice and this version of "Xanadu" is horrible and clearly shows her limited vocal abilities.

    Dannii is now the best and most entertaining Minogue.
    She sticks to Disco/Dance music and is not changing herself to "sell more" or to be more "commercial".
    Vocally she is waaaay better than Kylie, physically is waaay hotter than Kylie and musically has waaay better tracks than Kylie.

    In my opinion, she would be the most successful Minogue if it wasn't for her crappy recordlabels.
    I mean, just watch the duet of Kids on Kylie's latest tour and you'll compare.

    And this track is just AMAZING - The whole "Club Disco" is perfect.
    Dannii is the one.

    As a HUGE Minogue fan i have say, love ya Dannii, but ya no Kylie….saw White Diamond DVD and the performance of Kids with Kylie…..Dannii does not have the stange presence as her big sister…..but love this cover….you still put out great dance stuff Dannii….
