I read this site everyday as I love Perez but I am appalled st the comments some people make. Reese is a wonderful lady who puts her kids first. Back in 82 or so I used to eat at the Sweet 16 Fountain Grill, located at 16th and Montana, SW corner. It was a simple diner; they served burgers and tradtional types of American food, like meatloaf or stew, pie and coffee. They "specialized" in curly fries, where they took a whole potato and put it through a hand powered machine that spun it down. They were unusual at the time. The owner's name was Ed; a tall guy with white hair and dark circles under his eyes. I think he was a WWII vet. The cook's name was Benny. He was a slight Mexican guy with glasses and a small mustache. He wore a tall white cook hat. Nicest guy you could ever meet. The waitress's name was Bev. We were pals. She had curly dark hair and was so nice. The booths were pinkish red vinyl, all very 50's type diner inside, formica table tops. Those sugar dispensers, you know. Bev used to see me come in with my Grandpa and say, "The usual?" which was always a cheeseburger and curly fries. Who knows where they are now. Rest in peace Ed.
