Never really was a huge fan before but this blew me away. WOW!! She was amazing. Now I wished I saw her in Vegas.
I love Celine, and she is arguably the best female singer out there. BUT…although her cover isn't bad, if you think about how it's fucking TINA TURNER's song, you know Celine hasn't even come close. Tina Turner is one of those artists who you cannot fuck around with, and that includes you, Celine Dion, even if you have a voice blessed by the gods.

People just dont understand that Celine was just paying tribute to one of her favorite singers Tina Turner. She was not trying to outdo her, to be better than her or whatever… She just did an amazing job at singing a song she obviously loves.

I use to love this womans voice. All those power notes she would sing would send chills up and down my beautiful black spine but lately she sounds real "twangy" like she's singing through her nose. I still think she is a rare find in that she can actually sing without a bunch of bullshit being played over her voice to cover up a weak voice it's just that I think her time has come and gone and she is quickly looking silly trying to be a 20 something in an almost 40 somethings body. She had her moment. She was at the top. She will never get there again. I say retire and just enjoy being a mother and all the money you've made. Nice performance but there is something lacking that use to be their. Still one of the great vocalists but that doesn't seem to matter anymore with the garbage thats out lately.

If you already unconditionally hate her, you're going to see this as egotistical and tacky, as if she's trying to rip-off and one-up Tina. If not, you'll see it for what it really is: a tribute to a great song and a fantastic performer.
But wow, between this and the Live In Las Vegas DVD, I have to say that Celine is totally at the top of her game. She'll never be back at the very top of the music industry again (the public is far too fickle), but as long as she keeps performing like this, she'll make her many millions of fans very happy.
For those that said it sounded "terrible", on what basis did you form your opinion? I am not a big Celine fan at all but she did a great job with that. I base it on the fact that she hit all of the notes, didn't over-sing it like I thought she would and looked great.
She sounded good…a little too much like tina at times. But her moves are sooooo awkward. I could listen to this all day, but waching it is painful.

I guess Celine doesn't have a song of her own that can generate anywhere near the excitement as this song of Tina's, so she had to use it.

I think she did this very well! But I can tell by her voice she is kinda tryin to imitate Tinas voice a bit, thats why its kinda whiney sounding. I love Tina and Celine and it works for Tina, and when I saw Celine do River deep Mountain High I was extremely surprised! She is really good! I think Celine Idolizes Tina.

Everyone seems to have comparisonitis. It's pointless to compare Celine's version to Tina's (who is a goddess). I like the fact that Celine has toned her act down a bit (no more chest thumping). With a voice like that who needs all the theatrics. A very good performance. Happy New Year from Gatineau, Quebec!!
