Quote Of The Day

jackkkkooooo__opt.jpg

"Everyone gets DUI's. Thousands are handed out every day, but you only hear about it when celebrities get them. It is a big deal but it's not a big deal - just a slap on the wrist."

- Jack Osbourne, when asked about Mischa Barton's arrest for drunk driving and illegal drug possession

I think the majority of you have seriously misinterpreted what's being said here. He says, "It IS a big deal, but it's NOT a big deal…" meaning that it is a serious thing, and it is wrong, but in Hollywood it's always looked at as something trivial. It's like a trend in Hollywood now. I don't think Jack means to say that DUI means nothing. As a recovering addict, I'm sure he understands the severity of such things.

      Read, absorb, and comprehend. Please.

Jack Osbourne is such an asshole. I guess it's "no big deal" to you you drug addict, but what about people who lose loved ones to drunk drivers? I'd love you to say that to the face of a mother who lost her 5 year old daughter to some moron driving on the wrong side of the road, wasted. Welcome to the real world asshole. Just because you are in the papers (because your father is famous) does not make you different than everyone else in the world. You're shit stinks just as bad, probably worse. Celebrities can kill someone drunk driving too.

Well..thank you Jack for that in depth statistical analysis of DUI vs Common Joes. no shit my boi. If i get one who cares but when you get one we care. Unfair as it is, it is what it is. If you are feeling picked on, I will tell you this…if I get a DUI it is in the paper! So were equal. Now why they want follow you around and not me is strange. My life is far interesting than yours on a day to day basis. However, my parents are not celebrites. Perchance! May that be the reason. Had my parents been celebs I would be under the microscope?

Jack you're a messed up addict. Your family are messed up addicts and your friends are messed up addicts. So fucked up on the drugs and booze that they actually think that driving under the influence is not big deal. Money and booze have coroded your brain. Re: lor – He may be a public figure, but he is also HUMAN. Humans make mistakes and sometimes things come out wrong. I'm not claiming I can "read between the lines" because what he meant seemed pretty blatant to me. I'm sorry it wasn't as obvious to the rest of you.

He is right. DUI's do happen all the time, and they are a big deal. But does every DUI case involving "regular" people make the news? Even when people are killed? No.

Every time a celebrity gets pulled over, does it make the news? Yes. And no one takes it seriously. And it seems like no one will take it seriously until one of these "stars" gets killed-or kills someone else–in a car wreck.

It's very unfortunate, but it is the truth. In La La Land, nothing seems to be much of a big deal anymore–even something as dangerous and as awful as drunk driving.

such a celebrity thing to say. They are so oblivious that the world turn arounds them. It's too bad in California that they laws are so leniant. In Canada, if prosectued, you lose everything. That's the way it should be. It's a very serious issue. It shouldn't be shrugged off like that. So disgusting.

    26. great girl says – reply to this

      126

It baffles me that California law is a lenient as it is. Why is it so? In Canada, if convicted, you lose everything for drunk driving. But again, we also don't have different levels like the US do (from what I understand). Correct me if I'm wrong here. We have different levels of murder, but there are no misdimeanors in any charges. You are charged - period. Saying that someone is charged with misdimeanor DUI is rediculous. How is it a felony DUI? Do they have to be smashed?

Such a typical "celebrity, living in your own bubble with mummy and daddy's money" thing to say.

YEAH ASSHOLE BUT THE DIFFERENCE IS WE DON'T GET AWAY WITH IT
      AND WE NEED TO WORK!!!
I DON'T SUPPOSE THE WORDS : "MUST HAVE CLEAN DRIVING LICENCE" MEAN ANYTHING TO YOU ASSHOLE. RULING OUT HALF OF THE POSSIBLE JOBS A PERSON CAN GET.
I DON'T SUPPOSE HAVING A CRIMINAL RECORD *WOULD* EFFECT CELEBRITIES GETTING JOBS, SINCE THEY DON'T *HAVE* TO FUCKING GET A JOB.
I DON'T SUPPOSE BEING REFUSED A VISA WOULD APPLY TO YOU SINCE CELEBRITIES HAVE DIFFERENT RULES AND GET AWAY WITH SHIT AND ARE "SPECIAL CASES" WITH "SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES" (SUCH AS A TOUR THAT THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE WANT TO GO TO) WHICH THEY BEND THE RULES FOR.
….PLUS, YOU ALSO LIVE AND ARE ALLOWED TO WORK IN AMERICA ALREADY (ONE OF THE MOST STRICT PLACES, AT LEAST IF YOU DO IT LEGALLY!)

    30. Ray-Cheal says – reply to this

      130

Yeah DUI's suck but they're not the end of the world. And yes, a ton of people have had them… they're sooo common. 6 months goes by fast and maybe they should make the laws more strick. It does kinda seem like a slap on the wrist considering the kind of damage one can cause.

    31. hmm potentially killing someone isn't a big deal says – reply to this

      131

I forgot to say that I don't even drive. LOL I probably sound like someone who's been convicted for DUI but I haven't. These rules just piss me off.
It's not the same at all, and celebrities need harsher penalties if they do it because the 'punishment' is not the same.
If someone gets caught stealing they might get fined £1000. That will teach them a lesson but celebs can easily tip a waitress £10 000 just for the hell of it. So how is it a lesson or punishment??
DUI IS serious. I can maybe understand peope doing it once in a blue moon due to bad judgement or something but being all casual about it is despicable.
People with that kind of attitude shouldn't have a fucking driving licence.
Lets hope he wraps himself around a tree and doesn't take anyone else out with him. Like Hogan's son.

yah that's cool….a year ago my ex-boyfriend tucked me into the passenger seat of my car, asleep, and proceeded to drive my car home from a bar, drunk. He jumped a curb going 60 mph and flipped the car 3 times, finally coming to a stop in mid-air when it hit a light pole. My car was totaled and my hand was severed to the point of almost losing it. Yah, you're right Jack, drunk driving is SO not a big deal because EVERYBODY does it. Fucking piece of shit. Here is an F list celebrity making excuses for someone else's awful unethical behavior, and he looks like even more of an asshole that she does. There's at least still a small chance that Mischa is embarassed/regretful of this horrifyingly selfish shit. But his bullshit is so IGNORANT, SELFISH, AND SELF-CONGRATULATORY. We wouldnt need to hear his thoughts on the matter, even if they happened to be profound—but, they happen to be soul-crushingly ignorant and entitled —what a piece of shit.

      142

OF COURSE we don't see news about AVERAGE JOE'S DUI on tv. That's part of being a CELEBRITY!!! Is it FAIR? NO, everyone makes mistakes. But you CHOSE to be FAMOUS, now you gotta ACCEPT the ENTIRE PACKAGE and all the BURDEN and DOWN SIDES that come with it!!! If you wanna be PRIVATE, then don't pick a job in the LIMELIGHT!!! It's that simple.
Drunk drivers, and I mean REALLY drunk drivers, are definitely not punished severely enough. I'm not talking about someone who has had 1 or 2 beers, has bad luck and gets pulles over by some BULLY COP who enjoys BEING A DICK and arrests you although you're fine and still UNDER THE LEGAL LIMIT. Happened to a girl friend of mine who had 1 glass of wine and only go pulled over because of a broken tail light. She was driving fine and didnt even feel the wine. But he arrested her anyway. Now that's just WRONG, but unfortunately it happens often enough. That's what you get for letting UNEDUCATED MORONS become COPS who then go on a damn POWER TRIP!!!! (I know they're not all like that but way too damn many) But if you can FEEL THE ALCOHOL and know you're not 100% yourself, CALL A DAMN CAB or GO TO JAIL. Yes, way too many people die or get crippled for life because some people think they can drive after 5 margaritas. Those should face much harder consequences. So saying "Everyone gets DUI's" is the dumbest argument of all!!! Lol but why am I not surprised???

    43. Us Normal Folk says – reply to this

      143

It really must seem like a slap on the wrist…for a CELEBRITY!!! But for us NORMAL FOLK…we have to deal with the fear of loosing our jobs and then finding another job that is "good" is almost impossible! That is unless you wanna work at Taco Bell! YeaH…getting a DUI is a BIG DEAL!!!!

      145

I am glad that the DUI laws are strict. It gives the average person something to think about before they go out here and drive drunk and it should be that way for everyone. Since celebrities don't have to worry about being able to pay the fines or losing their jobs there has to be some other way to make them stop and think before they drink and drive. I don't feel sorry for them at all if they are upset when they get caught. :)

Wow, Jackie, you disgusting drug addicted piggie, DUI's are indeed a big deal. My husband was nearly killed by a drunk driver (who had THREE DUI's) and still suffers from horrific injuries as a result. Someone skewer this disgusting, talentless, useless piece of sh#t. These rich celeutards seriously need a cane up their asses every time they say something so out-of-touch and seemingly sociopathic. When Jack kills someone while driving drunk we'll see how minor it is then.

This guy's DNA is so polluted and evil. Looks at his role models: a money hungry mother with a never-ending mouth like a sewer, and a braindead father who's drank and done so many drugs that he can't even talk or walk anymore.

so turning to murder people with your car is not a big deal? Driving while impaired has got to be one of the most selfish crimes out there, because you're putting innocent people at risk. You don't care about your own safety, fine. But don't put me and my family at risk because you're too lazy or stupid to find a safe way home. Jack, I hope you are never ever ever cursed to know what it feels like to lose someone you care about to a selfish drunk who made the choice to drive. While they live and "sober up", you spend your time in the cemetary. Disgusting.
