The filmmaker and muckraker just posted the following insightful entry on his official blog.

This excerpt is especially telling!

Two months ago, Rolling Stone magazine asked me to do a cover story where I would ask the hard questions that no one was asking in one-on-one interviews with Senators Clinton, Obama and Edwards. "The Top Democrats Face Off with Michael Moore." The deal was that all three candidates had to agree to let me interview them or there was no story. Obama and Edwards agreed. Mrs. Clinton said no, and the cover story was thus killed.

Why would the love of my life, Hillary Clinton, not sit down to talk with me? What was she afraid of?

Those of you who are longtime readers of mine may remember that 11 years ago I wrote a chapter (in my first book) entitled, "My Forbidden Love for Hillary." I was fed up with the treatment she was getting, most of it boringly sexist, and I thought somebody should stand up for her. I later met her and she thanked me for referring to her as "one hot s***kicking feminist babe." I supported and contributed to her run for the U.S. Senate.

Ouch, Hillary!

Why would you do that??? What are you afraid of????

Moore goes on to say that he isn't officially endorsing a candidate, but he does come across as favoring John Edwards over the others.

      I believe Moore made the comment that when Hillary was the first lady and she was fighting against the big health industry monsters for universal healthcare it was a noble cause but now that she's running for president, one of her biggest contributors to her election are the large health industry monsters. What's up with that? Maybe she's afraid Moore will bring that up.

      Let's please support Edwards, even though it kills CNN to bring up his name. He cares about people, about not outsourcing our jobs, about not taking money from big PACs. It's time for all of us to put away our fascination with celebrities and remember that it's our country. It's not enough to want "Change" like Obama. It's more important to have a concrete understanding of where we've gone wrong. Roosevelt was incredibly wealthy, he even inherited his wealth unlike Edwards, and yet he related to the people and appealed to them. We can't dismiss Edwards because it's "hypocritical" since he's rich to talk about the poor. We all need to think about the poor, and not dismiss them as welfare queens so we can cut back the taxes of the rich and put more money in the pockets of the Hiltons and Gates of the world. This life is about more than money, more than gossip, more than celebrities. It's about a sustainable world that all of us can share, that all of us can learn and grow and love in. If you have only silly things to say, then it's time to get educated.

      I took one of those polls online where you just vote on your issues and then you see what candidate is most like what you want. Hillary and Obama were on the far right with all the republicans! I was right next to Kucinich!

      I think Hillary has to toe a very fine line. People want to ignore the fact that she is a woman and say that doesn't matter. That is a myth. The fact that she is female matters very much. If it didn't we would have had a female president a long time ago. She can't align with any radical interests (I personally think she is more liberal than she lets on) because she can't be seen as a "crazy liberal feminist" and thus lose any mainstream support that she needs to defeat to very capable candidates in Obama and Edwards. Clinton has a very tricky race to run and I completely applaud her efforts. I LOVE Michael Moore, but he is a so-called "radical" and she just can't risk it. I think she would love to do the interview, but she just can't in this day and age if she wants to actually win.

      Clinton probably refused the interview because she is smart. Although Moore claims to respect Hilary's feminism, he has repeatedly objectified and insulted her. Specifically, I am referring to a segment in one of his films where he created a "sexy" montage homage to Clinton.
