Leno Scolded By Writers Guild

When Jay Leno returned to the airwaves on Wednesday without his striking scribes, he announced that he had written his opening monologue, a violation of the Writers Guild strike rules.
Tisk. Tisk.
The WGA sent out the following statement on Thursday, reprimanding educating Leno about his responsibilities.
"A discussion took place today between Jay Leno and the Writers Guild to clarify to him that writing for The Tonight Show constitutes a violation of the Guilds' strike rules."
David Letterman will have an advantage over Leno for the time being. The Late Show host is back with his entire writing staff, a deal he was able to broker independently with the Writers Guild because Letterman, unlike Leno, owns his show.

Peopla have got to stop the power of the associations, if no one does, they will just dictate our entertainment all our lives.
For the love of all that is good, he was forced back to work and has supported you this whole time but he needs to earn a living too! The writers are not the be all and end all and alot of people who don't make as much as they do like production staff, camera crews etc are out of work too. Jay can't just stand there, he needs to do something.

These writers suck. They complain about everything. I'm so sick of hearing about their whining. Suck it up and be happy you have a job because many people don't. America is sick to death about hearing about the writers. We don't care. And I'm sure you can easily be replaced. People in Hollywood think everything revolves around them but it doesn't. Either go back to work and put out your mediocre talent or shut the eff up. We don't care. We'll watch movies, read a book, or entertain ourselves online. WE DON'T CARE.

This assumes that the writers would come up with something beter than Leno himself could. A big assumption. Some shows would probably do better without the writers. Like SNL. They eat shit. It'd probably be much funnier if the comedians performed off the cuff.
