I hate to say it - but she's right. I'm a local Aspen resident - mind you I wasn't born with a silver spoon in my mouth. The onslaught of photogs this season has been harassing and incredible. Even though the perception of this town might swing the other way - this is a very laid back, casual town and the celebrity culture - although certainly an aspect of this town during high season - is not felt by the community. Most living in this community don't want a bunch of lenses running through the streets to catch the face that will fill this blog.

i live in london and i know somebody here who works for the paparazzi and it quite annoys me to hear them stick up for paparazzi, saying that the celebrities ask for it, it comes with fame, they call up and let the paparazzi know where they are, etc etc.. but i would bet that the majority of celebrities, especially the credible ones, do not call up. and have you seen what happens when britney goes into strabucks for god's sake? why take 1,000 photos? i think it's ridiculous. acting, singing, enterainment (to a degree) is an art form, so if they are artists and take pleasure in their art why should people say 'well that's what they get'.

I kind of agree with her. I am from Aspen and the celebrities have ruined the town. Kurt is originally from Basalt right outside of Aspen. They are locals… The paps that follow the celebs to Aspen each Christmas take over the town. It was a simple town when I lived there…. and it was nice that way
Oh, cry me a river, Goldie! I do agree with her on the aggressiveness of the paps these days, but these celebrities do things to bring the attention on themselves. There are major actors you rarely see in the news. Why is it they know how to stay out of the limelight? Oh yeah, ’cause they're not out constantly shopping and whoring for attention. Ya know, I like to shop to, but really, there's this really cool thing called the internet and you can get just about everything you need on there!
