NO Actors Will Attend
The Screen Actors Guild officially announced on Friday that none of its members would appear at the Golden Globes.
SAG released the following statement about their decision:
"After considerable outreach to Golden Globe actor nominees and their representatives over the past several weeks, there appears to be unanimous agreement that these actors will not cross WGA picket lines to appear on the Golden Globe Awards as acceptors or presenters. We applaud our members for this remarkable show of solidarity for striking Writers Guild of America writers."
For their part, NBC also announced on Friday that the Golden Globes telecast will go on next Sunday.
Yeah, that was before the actor's said they weren't showing up.

Good for the actors agreeing to honor the strike. But the thing that irks me is that the writers are making some allowances for programs to resume production while the majority still strikes. This doesn't seem right - solidarity all the way people or else you're sending mixed messages. And yes, I do think the writers should be fairly compensated for their part in a production that other people are making money off of.

Anyone who shows up for the GGs should be considered scum for crossing the picket lines…that is includes producers, agents, managers…even news crews that show up to cover the event. The WGA is very aware of who is working for them and against them in this fight. BTW: There will be a long list of people who will have a hard time working with talent once this strike is over…it happened in 1988, there where actors, agents, managers and so on who the writers made sure where blacklisted and have never been heard from again…same thing will happen this time, just watch, it won't be pretty!

All these people are out of work because of one thing: greed. (#90, Big Award Ceremonies are one of the few places celebrities should actually be given attention at. It's one of the highlights of their career. If you don't want to watch them it's simple, do not watch, it's hard to have award shows shoved in your face when they only last 1 night and they tell you who won on the news and (maybe) show you what they were wearing then it's forgotten about)

I would be royally pissed at the writers if I were nominated for something I worked hard for only to be told I can't go to the awards show. If SAG isn't on strike, then why can't they go? A lot of actors have been on the picket line with you and voicing their support on various tv shows and you are going to tell them to stay home or else you'll picket? What a bunch of BS.
Imagine hearing your name called as the winner and not being able to accept your award and make your thank you speech and feel excited and have butterflies in your stomach all because some people who aren't even in your own union are on strike.
