If Barack wins, I will seriously scream. I don't think he's done anything to better Illinois, and he's a novice when it comes to politics. If worse comes to worse, I'll vote for Huckabee eventhough I am (was?) a diehard Democrat

He plays up the "black" image too much - he's not even American black - he's actually african & swedish I believe? Its a totally different culture entirely -

And I'm laughing at people who think he's "one of them" when he isn't - he's a mixed white boy with colored skin and that colored skin is going to get him the presidency

      idiotic

Hillary didn't come in a distant third, that is misleading wordplay, and you should be ashamed of yourself. She was a fraction of a percent behind Edwards.

      Barack Obama - 37%
      John Edwards - 20%
      Hillary Clinton - 19%

Obama had a HUGE win, but Edwards and Clinton did not exactly have huge losses.

Hillary Clinton has strong support in NH. Much more than Senator Obama. I have complete faith that Hillary will pull through and will have a successful Tuesday next week.
      TO ALL DEMOCRATS
IT HAS BEEN PROVEN THAT HILLARY CLINTON IS THE ONLY DEMOCRAT RUNNING WHO COULD BEAT A REPUBLICAN IN THE FINAL ELECTION! Do you want another four years of debt, lies, and cronyism? Hillary promises universal health care, pro-choice rights for women, she promises to put money into scientific research in finding cures for currently incurable diseases. Hillary is devoted to helping the middle class. She knows that education is the key to a successful future. She will help all children, no matter their fiscal background, attend college by establishing a LEGITIMATE education plan. She also has a detailed plan on how to get out or Iraq.

I encourage ANYONE who is at all fond of our country, democracy, and civil rights, to look at www.hillaryclinton.com and to vote for Hillary Clinton for president, 2008.

      64

I think this whole Iowa thing is crazy… on the Dem side we are talking about a total of 2447 people participating in the caucus.

And of them Obama got 918 and Clinton got 719. And not the major news organizations are talking about what a crushing defeat and set back this is for Hillary.

Seriously less than 3000 people in a country of over 200 million are somehow pointing toward who the future front runners are to be for the democratic party? And the fact that tens of milllions of dollars were spent to attract these meager votes.

And then the press reports this event as substantial?!? And shame on you Perez saying Clinton came in a distant third, she was only shy by 200 votes. (And I personally can't stand Clinton, and see her as nothing more than a Democratic version of Bush)

You know who had a shocking placement?

Chris Dodd he only got 1 yes 1 vote. Don't believe me check out the NY times front page www.nytimes.com

Hell Perez you should have run out there you would have gotten more than 1000 meager votes.

      Welcome to the empire!

      Re: Miss .V.
      Here's the thing. You're ignorant.
You're right about Obama's heritage, kinda, but your claim that he's playing the race card is inaccurate. If anything, Obama has tried to downplay the importance of his race the whole time. Hopefully, if black Americans vote for him, it will be because he is well informed in foreign policy (what I consider the leading issue of the day), is eloquent, intelligent, and forward-thinking. Furthermore, Mike Huckabee is very funny, but he's an idiot. It's hard for me to believe that any "die-hard" democrat would consider voting for him, considering his foreign policy illiteracy and his views on creationism, abortion, and gay marriage.
We are at a forefront in political progression–42 out of 43 of all the past presidents have been white protestant men. Now, for the first time, we have a woman, a black man, an Italian-American, a Morman–the complexity and diversity of this campaign is for too broad for your simplistic idiocy.

Re: Hilary will win, you fuck.
And you're obviously a racist pig. No one brought up race, but YOU. Racist pig. Hillary is qualified as a senator, but Obama is ready to lead and this is the time for a person like Obama. When you're ready to discuss and compare without bringing up the OBVIOUS, then talk.

      68

Osamabama doesn't have the stones to be President - these are hard days. Neither does Huckabee, but Iowa isn't the national election. The libs are screaming because some of the Repub candidates have moral issues high on their list but totally ignore the racism of Obama, the sleaziness of the Clintons, or the shallowness of Edwards. Mark my words, you elect a Dem, you'll be taxed into poverty. Don't expect the rich to carry you either.

    70. Mary Beth says – reply to this

      70

Stick to celebrity gossip, Perez! You are obviously not a well informed political pundit. Hillary was never supposed to win Iowa and, because of the "second choice" caucus set up, it was unlikely that she would take the second position. Her third place finish was hardly DISTANT and with the New Hampshire, Nevada, and Florida primaries, as well as February 5th’s “Super Duper Tuesday,” on the horizon, she scarcely has reasons to SCRAMBLE. As a John Edwards supporter, I am pleased with the outcome of tonight’s caucus, but I know it is much to premature to count Hillary, or any candidate for that matter, out.

The media gives Obama more favorable and bias coverage than any other canidate. Hillary still leads in National polls by about 20 points and they never fucking mention that. If you pay attention to politics you know that Obama is the most unqualified person to be president since George W Bush. People say they want change, but you can't change jack shit when you don't have any original ideas of your own. Ask Obama what he'll do with the crisis in Pakistan, the surge in Iraq, the collapse of the housing market, the bad economy and healthcare and he doesn't have a fucking clue. Hillary Clinton might not be as "warm" but she's experienced and can start fixing shit from day 1. Plus she's married to a successful former President which is perhaps the greatest asset anyone could possibly have. Bill alone would help restore America's tarnished image abroad. Oh and Bill didn't win Iowa either so Obama can go fuck himself

Quite honestly, Hillary may win NH very easily. It's very probable. But for at least tonight, us OBAMA supporters will savor the moment. If/when Hillary takes NH, we'll be the sore losers, too, just to make you guys feel better….

    91. Stick to your cum drawings Perez says – reply to this

      91

Perez, will you please stick to talking about Britney and drawing cum on the mouths of famous people and stay away from politics?? You are talking about things you know nothing about and it's quite ridiculous. Hillary and Edwards were essentially tied for second and the effect of Iowa on this election is going to be very different this year than it has been in the past. Hillary (who I don't want to win) has a significant amount of support across the country that will not be affected by the results in Iowa. So go write in a vote for Angelina Jolie or something when you vote and leave the talk of politics to those with brains.

      Hey Obama,
The US is 53 TRILLION in actual debt. We borrow 2 or 3 billion EACH DAY from China, Saudi Arabia, and other countries. ALL THE TAXES Americans pay goes to paying INTEREST ONLY on those loans. Now, what programs did you want to set up?

    94. Jake says – reply to this

      94

I love it how Perez distorts the facts to further his own agenda. Truth is Edwards and Clinton are in a vitual tie for second. Even if she does lose, it'll be by a 1% margin.

    95. S.D. says – reply to this

      95

What exactly is it that bugs you about Hillary? Thus far she's proven she's far more intelligent and passionate than Obama. As charming as Barack Obama is, he's a younger candidate with a lot to prove. Even if he is elected, it's likely he'll falter under the pressure. Hillary Clinton has proven for twenty years now that she's got the staying power and leadership skills to tough it out. She's been putting up with severly immature and inane insults for that entire time, and still she's pushed forward. I personally think she should be commended. She is by far the most qualified and reliable candidate to offer change to our country, even if she isn't as shiny and show-boaty as Obama.

    96. UR SOOOPID says – reply to this

      96

U R AN IDIOT!!!! she was basically tied for second. This marks the ending point of edwards' campain because he NEEDED to win this one to stay relevant. & Hillary is still in the lead Nationwide. Obama is a momentum candidate and that momentum could easily fall off in the coming months. He is far too reliant on the youth vote. He will NEVER win in the long run

    97. well he's still black though says – reply to this

IT SADDENS ME DEEPLY THAT THIS SMALL BUT EQUALLY IMPORTANT PART OF OUR NATION HAS DECIDED THAT THIS MAN QUALIFIES TO BE OUR COMMANDER IN CHIEF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
