Um - I used to have a "thing" with Ellen right around her HARD CANDY days. I am a guy and she is definitely straight. She was emancipated from her parents and came to L.A. to do ig movies like X-MEN long before most girls have graduated high school. And she was advanced for her age in other ways too.

Hard Candy is the worst movie ever made. The acting is painful to watch as is the movie itself. Anyone who enjoys that movie is twisted and on top of that, not particularly intelligent. Ellen Page is one note and in a few years time no one will remember who she is. Maybe she can get a reality show if she wants to bore us all to death some more and stay in the spotlight.

Re: hate her – how dare you say horrible things about Hard Candy and Ellen Page. She is one of my friends and I thought Hard Candy was a wonderful film. Also with Hard Candy it teaches you a lesson about not to meet people who you have met over the internet. Plus Ellen Page is one of the BEST Canadian actors out there along with Ryan Gosling, William Shatner (yes, I mean Captain Kirk), Pamela Anderson and so on….. I went to high school with her, and also everyone in Nova Scotia are so proud to say that she is from Nova Scotia since she is the first Nova Scotian to get a Golden Globe nod. she is number one in both provincal newspapers as newsmaker of the year (for 2007). So quit that B.S. about Ellen Page and learn to respect actors for who they are and their work in the film industry. You never here anyone dissing Brad Pitt or anyone else who is supposedly gay or they have done a horrible film. GO ELLEN GO.

Ellen page is totally boss. She's the cheese to my macaroni.
anyway, it's so nice to see such a young and amazing actress in this business simply because of her passion for acting. She has not done a conventional movie yet o taken a typical teenaged girl role. I've seen hard candy, juno and the tracy fragments and she is amazing in all 3 of those films. In an interview she also said she'd rather be shot in the foot than take the regular hollywood starlet path.

I live in Halifax and I see her all the time, at clubs and just around time. Saw Juno and dragged a bunch of guys who swear they liked it. She is super cute in person, about 4 ft 10. We have common friends, she is a lesbian, in a relationship.
