Her name is Gemma Arterton, and she's gorgeous.

The virtually unknown British actress has been cast as the lead in the new Bond film, opposite Daniel Craig.

Bond 22 picks up where Casino Royale left off.

Congrats!

      Bond girls are supposed to be above and beyond gorgeous. Vixens. This girl is chubby and very average. Nothing hot or sexy about her, judging from the pic. Maybe she is more svelte in the movie, and this is just a bad picture, I'll keep an open mind. But this pic is all I have to go by. Daniel Craig is in amazing shape with a very athletic physique and why would they choose a somewhat overweight actress to play opposite of him? Are they trying to make a political statement about body image?

      Both gals in the last Bond film were hot. Why didn't they keep them?
