The world thinks you are special and taking a break would not influnce their opinion of you…. it might improve it after recent events. What other person in recent history has been able to captivate the world from the age of 16 and on? Whatever it is that you have to make people worship you you will able to get back with a dose of reality and self love. Mend relations with your family and love yourself beyond the sex symbol quality that you believe is the only possession you have. Your children love you and want you to be well even if it meeans you are a plain jane. There is nothing more satisfying than your childrens admiration and love.

I am sincerely sad to see the media frenzy surrounding Britney's breakdown and it has scary similarities to the contidions we saw in connection with Diana's death - only Britney is actually amazingly still alive. In moments like this I am not proud to say that I am a daily reader of Perez' column because its people like you and me who feed the snappers - who in turn seriously ruin peoples lives. The paparazzis have not left one moment of Britney's so-called life unattended the last months - and enthusiastically the world has witnessed her clumble - her outrageous outfits and erratic behaviour making it increasingly amusing.
But I don't think its fun any more. It stopped being fun a long time ago - this is nothing more than a personal tragedy - and if you ever visit a mental institution with non-famous patients, it is NOT at all amusing to watch. Mental illnesses can and does affect anybody - watch out, next time it might be you. And then it is your turn to laugh for all the wrong reasons.

You're the first person I can think of in history who has lived their lives in front of the cell-phone cameras since they were too young to understand it. I have a tremendous amount of sympathy for you and respect for getting as far as you have.
I work with adolescents that are troubled. That's my job. A lot of the basic behaviors I'm seeing in your actions are nothing new to me.
I also worry - on an extreme case - about your boys. When you had your boys, you gave your life away to them. When you held Jayden hostage, it was obvious there was either something in your mind that made you so completely concerned about his life with Kevin that your maternal instinct kicked in, or you selfishly were trying to protect your own identity in his eyes. Only you know. The press has made it out to be the latter.
What I think you need to do now is take some time off. I don't know how intrusive the paparazzi is, but to protect your kids, to protect yourself, HIDE. And while you're at it, see a counselor. Anyone in your position - whether misrepresented or not - needs help. Not by just a bodyguard or assistant, but by someone who can psychologically help you. You're facing a mountain no one has ever, ever climbed.

Hi Britney, I just wanted to say that although people may say you're crazy but you know inside that you're not. You're not alone and some of us understand what you're going through. Get the help you need. Find someone you can talk to that won't just tell you what you want to hear. Maybe someone that won't talk at all, but just listen to you for a change. Take it one minute at a time at first, then gradually one day at a time, and eventually you WILL get this under control and be able to go on with your life. God bless you and your loved ones.
