This is a good thing for Taylor. American Idol never understood him, and never knew what they had in their hands. They insist America made a mistake when they voted for Taylor, which is clearly an admission that their show doesn't work the way they want it to, meaning, THEY are the ones who want to choose to win, not the public.

Thank God, Taylor is free because now he can finally do music the way he wants to, and not the way he is dictated to. And I just can't wait what he's going to do.

He was entertaining on Idol but just listening to him "sing" wouldn't do it for me either. His style of music has a narrow market I guess. So, I'm not surprised. When we voted for him to win, noi so sure it was necessarily for him as it was against McPhee.

Getting dropped by a major record label is not good, spin all you want. Taylor will probably go the way of Bo Bice, from selling 700k, to scraping by on a new label at 36k. McPhee sold really pitifully as well. Just goes to prove sex doesn't always sell — sex, faux-r&b, and autotune… ugh.

They say Kellie Pickler will bypass Taylor Hicks in sales next week. I believe Kellie finished in seventh place, ouch. And Kellie has already more than doubled Katharine McPhee's sales, especially embarrassing when you consider how Katharine questioned Kellie's singing ability. Even Elliott Yamin (a third place finisher) has outsold McPhee, and he's on an independent label.

I doubt fantasia will be dropped, her second CD so far has scanned just over 500,000 and her second single 'When I see you' was a number 1 on billboard RnB charts and radio for several weeks. It's a shame that song never crossed over to the pop radio stations. It's a great song and her delivery is flawless. Gayken on the other hand decided to release an album of covers for his second CD, who greenlighted that idea? Maybe he'll call JR Rotem and say I'll blow you for a hit song just like Lilo and brit brit.
