   Just goes to show AI is just a big popularity contest that has nothing to do with talent -it's all overhyped garbage. With the exceptions of Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood and Chris Daughtry (Clay for a little while but his popularity has waned), nobody from that show has had legit success.

   That's exactly what happened to Taylor Hicks - he sat on his ass and thought he had it made, afterall he got 7 million votes or something like that on Idol. He should have come out of that gate running, but instead he relied on popularity and goofy stage gimmicks to get by. Doesn't work!

    You spew this same garbage about Fantasia on the AI boards. I know who you are. Fantasia has 2 Grammny nominated cds. I wonder how may shows Clay will miss considering he sooooo busy with all his charity/Unicef work (as you just loooove point out to death on the AI boards. Is he gonna give that up to perform 8 shows a night in Spamalot? I haven't read any negative comments about Fantasia missing 50 shows. The way I see it, Clay is the one who will/should be dropped next. He's done literally nothing since 2003. You're totally delusional.

    Let's be real. Hicks was dropped/fired/let go by the label because he is a FLOP. Not only that, he has no marketability or selling power now. Put a fork in him, he's done! The middle-aged housewives that make up the Soul Patrol can't sustain him. He needed to break out into the general public and he did not do that, not in the least. So it's back to the little bars and clubs for the gray haired-dude. Perhaps he can endorse housing developments in Alabama - oh wait - did that already.

    No, the middle-age baby boomers could not sustain him. They do not generally buy music or download. Taylor needed younger listeners to buy his music and they certainly were not interested in him. Looks like Taylor made no compromises, so that's the price you pay.

    Taylor lost my respect and admiration when my 22 year old daughter went to his book signing in NY and asked him to write Happy Birthday Linda when he signed his book and he just looked at her — then when she said "Pleeeeeeeeeeeeease, he scribbled it–and never said a word - Not even thanks for getting the book. She was getting a book for me, for my birthday present. I WAS one of his biggest fans — up until that time! But no more!

    Jen, you got that right. The real winner, the guy the label and American Idol treats as the winner is Chris Daughtry. He delivered the goods, baby. He did exactly what Taylor did not do - he got accepted by the general public. Next stop: The Grammy's. It's OK Chris didn't win. He's won in life.

    Most Annoying Album of the Year: Daughtry. There was nowhere in the entire US you could go to escape the crap-rock of "American Idol" loser Chris Daughtry. Hell, even "American Idol" picked up on the album, and each week you'd have to hear "Home" during the montage of the latest axed participant. I can stand pop and I can stand pop-rock, but don't try to pretend you're an amazing Modern Rock act when all you are is a lukewarm fifth generation Creed clone.

    Pukez, the day RCA drops Clay is the day I give you a blow-job. Will.Never.Happen. Good God, even with a cover album that wasn't promoted (no videos, no label support to radio, no retail placement, no praise)., it SOLD GOLD. Are you seriously that much of an incompetent in the industry you claim to know so much about? FYI, there are approx. 30,000 CDs released each year; approx. 300 of them sell Gold or better; that's 1% to morons like you. Depending on how much was spent to promote them (in the case of Clay's latest, practically nothing), that 1% are highly coveted in an ever-declining market. When you consider that Clay's first 2 albums & 2 CD singles broke sales records, that he's still the highest grossing solo concert artist in AI history, that he's a proven TV star (high TVQ), no less than legends Mike Nichols & Eric Idle personally chose him for their Broadway hit, many other music labels & Broadway producers have been courting him for years, & Clive Davis is FINALLY allowing him to make his own album with his own original songs & his hand-picked Grammy-winning producer set for summer '08 ….. well, let's just say that your predictions of his career demise (just how many yrs now have you been saying that?) are slightly misguided. LOL! Jeez, you are one braindead piece of shit.
