Which, as her personal history dictates, she has used drugs, however, I think the mental health issue is the dominate problem - she is not acting like a drug addict, she is acting like she is having an acute manic episode.

I'm not a prof but I would think that they would test for everything. So I guess she isn't a meth addict or any of those stupid drugs people on here were saying she was on. There is NO such thing as a Magic 'Tox Screen' that specifically test for 'Illegal' vs 'Legal' substances. Chemicals are just not that smart. The body metabolizes substances down to specific metabolites and that it generally what is looked for- the residue metabolites. If you are a prescribed Vicodin or taking Heroin, it all shows up the same in a tox screen- as Opiate Metabolites. the amount of substance/metabolites are a different matter. If the individual is lacking a prescription for an Opiod or the substance prescribed and cannot explain that away that might cause one to suspect illicit drug use. Otherwise, if you have a prescription and test pos for that substance, you are likely covered- unless you are driving etc then obviously have a script would not absolve you…..

This is not a big mystery. Anyone who's ever done a lot of adderal and not eaten any food for a long time knows that it makes you have a serious psycotic breakdown just like coke or meth, and it won't show up in a drug test beacause its not illegal. It does'nt mean she isn't taking more than prescribed. She cannot be trusted to take anything in an ethical way right now. In Hollywood they take adderal like it's a diet pill. It's become a fun game to play for her and not get caught. And of coarse this won't end until something permanent happens. It's best for most people to get really bored of her so it's not fun amymore…….

I've worked in a mental hospital for years…basically, they can only hold her anywhere from 48-72 hours without doctor's orders. After that initial time is up the patient is given the option to sign themselves out (Against Medical Advice). That's what Britney probably did. A Doctor could reject her AMA but it would then have to go to a special court and he'd have to have a lengthy case of why he believes she needs to be held there and that mostly has to do with how she behaved while she was in the hospital. If she played by the rules and denied having any suicidal or homicidal thoughts while there they wouldn't have much of a case, basically. When they test patients for drugs they're testing for EVERYTHING, including prescription pill abuse. She was probably given appointments with a psychiatrist outside the hospital when she was leaving, but I doubt she'll follow through on that.

Abuse of Adderol explains ALL of her behavior. Lots of people report great mood swings on this drug. You always feel like you have to be doing something, anything. The mindless driving, the erratic behavior (Manic screaming to laughter) and if she has a "script" for it, then yes she would pass a drug test; especially when they are only testing for the common illegals.
This drug also helps you get over hangovers rather quickly and God knows Britney has had more than her share of those.

Typically when a person is admitted to a psych ward or detox they are given a routine drug screen that includes amphetamines, cocaine, marijuana, benzodiazapines, barbituates, methadone, opiates and oxycodone. Any other drugs such at ecstacy or prescription drugs require them to be sent to a specialty lab but this isn't done very often. I run these tests everyday.

Actually, Perez, relevant prescription pill abuse would fall under general drug testing. One of the 5 things they test for is opiates, which would cover not only heroin, but prescription pills like morphine, oxycontin, methadone, perkaset, vicodin, codine, etc. Another one of the 5 things they test for is amphetamines, which would cover crystal meth and prescription amphetamines like ritalin and aderall.
However, I'm not sure benzos like Valium are tested for, but I can't see her taking valium, as it calms people down. Britney acts all hopped up on something, so it probably is just the mania from bipolar disorder.

I know for a fact that whenever patient's admitted we always do a complete blood count and we take a urine sample. All of which shows every possible aspects of one's health: it indicates toxicity levels (if one overdosed or has abnormal levels in one particular area), we can detect the use of prescription and non-prescription drugs, drug abuse, alcohol, everything. So, if that ”report” saying she had taken that many drugs at once(vicodin, 6 ritalin caplets, 1 bottle of peptobismol, etc.) WAS TRUE, IT would have SHOWED UP! There's just no question about it… Unless the staff as Cedars' was as ”star-struck” with Britney as they were with Dr. Phil…

Learn what's included in a basic urine drug screen before you ask stupid questions. I'm quite sure the hospital followed all policies and procedures.
Unless she was deemed to be suicidal, homicidal, or actively psychotic, they cannot keep her against her will and she may be treated on an outpatient basis!
