Dr. Phil Cancels Britney Show!
The TV doc had planned to air a special about Britney Spears, but has now decided to shelve it.
Phil just issued the following statement to Entertainment Tonight:
"As was widely reported this weekend, at the request of concerned family members, I visited Britney Spears in the hospital. The details of that visit will, of course, remain private. We had planned to tape a 'Dr. Phil Now' show tomorrow, focusing not on the tabloid side of Britney’s latest problems, but instead on the very serious issues surrounding this case. Clearly, it is not just Britney's family struggling to find a way to protect adult children who cannot be ordered or compelled to seek help. Because the Spears situation is too intense at this time, and out of consideration to the family, I have made the decision not to move forward with the taping at this particular time. Britney and her family are in our prayers and we ask that they be in yours."
It probably didn't help the Doc that Britney's parents pulled out of being on the show!

Dr Phil is a two bit psychologist so full of himself, thanks to Oprah, who made him out to be a god. the reality is, brittany is seriously ill, she clearly has bipolar disorder and needs the help of psychiatrists first to get her on medication which could save her life. It is a treatable illness,and it will be a sad day if Brittany harms herself when it could have been prevented. Having suffered from severe post partum psychosis after the birth of my son, and then having developed bipolar disorder, i spent two years in and out of hospitals. I continued to defy the doctors and go off my medication. It has now been 18 years since i was diagnosed. It has not always been easy, and I will have to stay on medication the rest of my life. Brittany, if you are reading this, please, go get medical help. You can do it! Its not a stigma, and once you're on your meds, then get the psychological help you need. Then, finally, my other advice? Stay away from the Dr. Phil's of the world. You don't need a two bit tv talk show psychologist. And leave LA. go somewhere you can be just YOU, not a pop princess you. Go to a place like Africa or India and volunteer. A place people only know you as YOU, and not for what you are famous for. make a fresh start, then come back to your career. you'll be such a role model to so many young women who are suffering like you are. I work in a psychiatric hospital-Dr.Phil's visiting Britney like that is completely unethical and would be against hospital policy. Doctors can only see patients when they actually work in an inpatient unit and have been assigned to that patient or are given permission by the patient themselves. I don't know who he paid to get inside, but this guy is a hack who will do ANYTHING to get attention, particularly taking advantage of people at their lowest points. Disgusting-he only bailed to save his ass from a lawsuit.
