Uh oh!

Talk in political circles is that Hillary Clinton may be dropping out of the Democratic presidential race.

In some states, she is trailing Barack Obama by double digits!

Is America still not ready for a female President???

maybe she has been offered a VP spot??

it isn't about the US not being ready for a female President. it is that hillary does not resonate well with mainstream public, has been a political insider for decades and she comes off as an upperclass woman who is out of touch.

This isn't true. About an hour and a half ago, Hillary Clinton was on NPR stating that she was going to continue campaigning and "soldier on." It is very doubtful that she will drop out of the race.

    68. hillarysupporter says – reply to this

      68

Just because Obama won Iowa and will likely win NH, does not mean that Hillary will be dropping out. She's still leading in delegates and certainly the most qualified of all the candidates. I would much rather support a person who has 35 years experience making change and delivering results than a man who is all talk with nothing to show for it. Go team Hillary!!

    69. guiltypleasure says – reply to this

      69

Perez, dear heart, you're a fierce gossip queen, but your understanding of politics is molecular. Hillary has $100 million in the campaign bank, she still leads in the polls nationally, and she's certainly not going down without a fight. Your report is about as credible as your "absolete certainty" that Castro is dead. You know entertainment; keep your eyes on Britney and the Wino.

    70. Yep says – reply to this

      70

If she can't handle "the rookie" and loses her cool this easily debating "friendly" democrats, just imagine how badly she will deal with Russia, China, Iran, Venezuela, etc. etc.

Ready to screw up from day 1 should be her motto. Her time is over. Her personality was NEVER ready.

As hard as it is to take, the republicans are right. If her last name wasn't Clinton, nobody would have ever taken her candidacy seriously.

      Its time to move on.

    75. giovanna says – reply to this

      75

      Not true.
I've been working on her campaign and though the guy who is running may be making mistakes (read: spending money and time in Iowa), but she is in it for the long haul. She's counting on California/New York/Florida, February 5th.
I was all about Barack until I realized that not only do we not know him, but nobody on the international stage does, either. The world situation is too precarious for a rookie.
      Vote Hillary!

    76. A PROUD woman! says – reply to this

      76

I think we are ready for a woman president…just NOT this one!!!!! Just because we don't want her, doesn't mean we don't want a woman!!! It is NOT an all or nothing situation!!!

      77

      Re: buddy
But I bet you think telling people to fuck off on the senate floor when they don't go your way is ok, right? She is not crying about anything and HELL FUCKING LO, everyone rips on each other in elections. You think Hillary is the only one doing it? Check out the some of the things Mitt and Fuckabee are saying about each other. You say it is not that we are not ready for a woman just this one, but your comment smacks of double standards.

And for the record, I wouldn't vote for Hillary if she had a dick, so I damn sure wouldn't vote for her just cause she has a uterus. I just don't buy the fact that she would change anything. I personally like Edwards as I just don't think when the final lever pull arrived this country is evolved enough to vote for a black man with a muslim name. We give ourselves too much credit.

I am a woman, have no problem with another woman leading our country….just not this one. One, she is a fucking commie. Two, she let her husband get his dick sucked right under her nose and then stuck by him. Not the kind of woman I look up to. Plus, her health care idea is a joke. Our government can't get Social Security, Vertrans Affairs or Welfare right, how the hell are they going to run government funded health care. What a joke.

On top of everything else, it is time for a change. I don't want Bush, Clinton, Bush, Clinton.

Female, male has nothing to do with it. She just rubs people the wrong way. Cokie Roberts said it best a few years ago, "do people really want another 4-8 years of the Clintons?" And that is what it would be. I'm an educated woman voter and I've never liked Hillary. Perhaps it is her nasal tone, her trail (and Bill's) of scandals, but I really think it goes back to 1992 when she said "Well, I don't sit around baking cookies!" Hey, some women (and men) like to do that, no matter what their job or intelligence level. I just found that abrasive.

We need someone in there that can reduce the deficit and make our country strong again. I think Hilary is that person.

    84. Sasmantha says – reply to this

    85. Jenn E says – reply to this

      85

Yes, America IS ready for a woman to be president, but there's no way in hell that it needs to be Hillary. She's a liar, a cheater, and her sense of entitlement angers me beyond belief. Just because her husband was president doesn't necessarily mean that she's qualified to hold the same position.

I sincerely hope that she not only doesn't get the party's nomination, I hope she's not chosen to run as VP either. I just want the Clintons to GO AWAY!!

      90

Obama is charming but apparently doesn't know that Pakistan borders IRAN, which could be an issue for a man running for President. Huckabee is an ego-maniac (I live in Arkansas, so believe me, he isn't Mr. Sunshine). Plus, he doesn't know jack about foreign affairs, the rest of America will soon find that out once he gets hit with some hard guestions. Hilary is smart enough but just doesn't have the charm her hubby had. Let's face it, whether you are Democrat or Republican, the only REALLY qualified person running is John McCain. I vote for the person not the party and McCain is the only one I feel SAFE putting in office.

    91. Changes says – reply to this

      91

I think America is just not ready for THIS woman as president. And a need for real change, another Clinton would mean 4 more years of a two family control of the White House which has lasted 18 years… (Bush-Clinton-Clinton-Bush-Bush)…

    92. HillaryWillWin says – reply to this

      92

This is ridiculous. 1. When President Clinton won the nomination, he lost IOWA and NEW HAMPSHIRE. 2. Hillary was never expected to win Iowa and they didn't even want her to campaign there. 3. Obama will NOT win the nomination, he is not electable. 4. He has NO experience, he's a first term Senator. 5.If anyone can bring about the change everyone is talking about, it is definitely HER, somoneone who has dedicated her life to changing other peoples lives, not some first term senator with ZERO political clout in Washington.

it's not that america isn't ready for a female president. america's not ready for another CLINTON in office. if it was any other female, she'd have a chance, but because it's bill clinton's wife, they have a problem with it. clinton did too much for the poor man and not enough for the rich man while he was in office, and you know america can't have that. america help the poor man? can you imagine?

    98. Coli says – reply to this

      98

Just because Hilary isn't doing well doesn't mean America isn't ready for a female president. Maybe America just doesn't like her. It's not fair to assume that because the one women to ever run for president isn't winning that it's because she's a woman. Maybe America isn't a fan of her or her politics. It is possible that America would just like a different female candidate.
