Eminem has let himself go!

The former Slim Shady's weight has ballooned over the past year, as he has kept out of the public light. His weight has become a real issue for him.

The semi-retired rapper was hospitalized in his hometown of Detroit over the holidays with a heart condition and pneumonia.

Says Fems publicist, "Over the holidays, Marshall Mathers, aka Eminem, was under doctor's care at a Detroit-area hospital for complications due to pneumonia. He has since been released and is doing well recovering at home."

Re: Omar – Omar - my mother is a heavy smoker and even something like a common cold can get her so sick that it usually turns into pneumonia. She is hospitalized at least 5-6 times a year for that. They recieve breathing treatments to clean out theit lungs. If you smoke, please quit now!! I'm trying to myself and let me tell you seeing my mother in and out of the hospital like that is enough to make me quit!

Pneumonia is pretty much anytime you build up fluid in your lungs. Heart problems cause Pulmonary edema, this as well as other buildups of fluids in the legs or extremeties. So its probably related.

Lots of people get pneumonia who aren't overweight. The fact that he is a little chubby right now really has nothing to do with that. His overall health might be suffering because of his weight and because of that he might not be as able to fight off diseases like that because his immune system is low. Make sure you clarify, fat does NOT equal pneumonia.

Re: DORA – Steroids might be the issue. They are used to help with the pneumonia and can cause weight gain. If so, it will all com off shortly. Asthma patients use them as well with the same weight gain & then loss after stopping use.

He's probably on prednisone (a common steroid for that type of illness). When my husband came down with pneumonia (he's a severe asthmatic), he was put on it and he gained a bit of weight.

The Luxor headlining illusionist was recorded having quite the verbal altercation with Joe Monti, one of his magic producers on Wednesday, during which Angel is heard threatening to knock him out - and now he's had a police report filed against him!
